Posted .Hi CPio, We regret to hear about the low sound quality issue you're having with your SRSXB33 speaker. The XB33 is specifically designed for audio clarity throughout its volume range. This is something our music loving customers appreciate most. That being said the XB33 also gets very loud for its size and audio precision.
We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine tune your XB33 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.
Please make sure you fully charge the speaker, especially after it has gone below 10%, and hit the auto volume limiter (designed to keep your speaker safe).
Then Increase the volume level of the wireless speaker and source devices.
You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
If the speaker suddenly turns off or if the battery runs out quickly, please follow the troubleshooting steps on the link below to resolve this issue.

Posted .Hi Monique, We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your SRSXB33. We'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to troubleshoot.
The sound may become low in the following cases.
-When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.
-When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.
If the sound becomes low while in use, Turn off the speaker and charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

It's water resistant, I keep it next to my shower sometimes so I'm sure it get's sprayed a bit but it's not in the shower. I definitely adjust the volume with wet hands. It has a long enough battery life and I charge it roughly every other day. I use it just about nightly and there's always the option of leaving it plugged in. The sound quality is amazing and the way it lights up when I'm playing music is awesome. This is by far the best I've owned. I did buy a number of cheaper ones in the past in roughly the $100 range but I coughed up the extra $50 bucks and I've not been disappointed. I listen mostly to talk but when I do play music the sound quality is amazing. It also links up with other speakers of its kind so my nephew links it to his and we have a house full of music. Not only would I recommend this speaker, I'd buy it for a friend.

I like the ruggedness of this speaker. I’ve had it for over a week and have charged it yet. Excellent battery life. I have to say that it doesn’t bump as hard as previous Sony speakers but trust me you still can’t go wrong with this.

It feels more sturdy, yet still portable, and the lights are great. I also love the bass on it as I listen to a lot of hip hop and found that other speakers are lacking in that regard.

Advertises a 24 hour battery life and 5 hour charge time, HA! This speaker will not play for more than 3-4 hours without pausing your music every 15 minutes to say "please charge." It will still play for a few more hours, but no where near 24, total probably about 8 hours and the last 4 your music is being interrupted continuously. Charge time is no less than 12 hours for a full charge. I can plug it in at 8pm and at 10am the next morning the charge light is still on. Before assuming mine is defective: I swapped the original one i purchased for another one, did the same thing. I reached out to Sony directly about it after going outside of my return window to see if they would refund me, instead they sent me a new one, does the exact same thing. The only way this speaker does what it says it's supposed to is if you turn the light function off, the bass boost off, and play it at a low volume. Save yourself the trouble and go get a JBL, way better quality speaker for sometimes a better price

Like any other battery operated speaker actual performance time may vary from the listed time due to the volume, songs played, surrounding temperature, and usage conditions. The following setting will help you get the most out of your battery. Battery life from a full charge using Bluetooth playback: Approx. 24 hours: Measured value acquired by playing our specified music source with the volume level of the unit set to 36, the sound mode set to STAMINA, and the illumination turned off. Approx. 14 hours: Measured value acquired by playing our specified music source with the volume level of the unit set to 35 and with the factory default settings (illumination: ON and sound mode: EXTRA BASS). Approx. 4 hours: Measured value acquired by playing our specified music source with the volume level of the unit set to maximum and with the factory default settings (illumination: ON and sound mode: EXTRA BASS). Charging: When the recommended USB AC adaptor capable of delivering an output current of 1.5 A is connected, charging completes in about 5 hours* and the CHARGE indicator turns off.
