I at times have to shut the unit down to successfully connect to my phone after my son has been using it but it only takes about 10 seconds. The waterproofing works as we got rained on and the speaker functions perfectly.

Only downfall is you don't know when it is fully charged. The charge light does not change color/turn off/flash, when it's done.

If you haven't yet, downloading the Music Center app allows you to select your favorite playlists, cue the next song, or change lighting patterns and sound modes of the unit- this will surely enhance your experience!
The CHARGE indicator turns off once charging completes. If the built-in battery is fully charged when you connect the speaker to an AC outlet, the CHARGE indicator lights up in orange then turns off after about 1 minute. We will surely take note of your feedback as we always strive to make this a better experience.

You can turn off the speaker light by pressing and holding the BATT (battery)/LIGHT button behind the cap on the rear side of the speaker for about 3 seconds until the lighting function turns off/on.
