Therefore, my opinion of this item, is I did not like it. It was not a good fit for my life style. Thank You

We appreciate your trust in Sony products. It's unfortunate that you had to return the speaker of the speaker light function. This function can be turned off by pressing and holding the BATT (battery)/LIGHT button behind the cap on the rear side of the speaker for about 3 seconds until the lighting function turns off.

That was not my main gripe however the volume of the speaker for the size was disappointing when my tiny jbl speaker is louder that was a hey I’m going to return this. But even though all of that I did really like the relatively natural sound profile that Sony went for with this speaker. But for the price go for the altec lansing brand. I found that their speakers are great in terms of quality to price.

Posted .Hi LintLicker24, we are really sorry if our XB33 did not meet your expectations. Aux out: We do currently have a similarly sized speaker with Aux-in. The SRS-XB31 Portable BLUETOOTH® Speaker. You may check out its full features and specifications on this link https://www.sony.com/electronics/wireless-speakers/srs-xb31. The XB33 was designed to be a very balanced speaker with a focus on both vocal clarity & the Extra Bass you know and love as a Sony customer.
If you haven't, to get the most out of your speaker, please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your XB33 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.
Please make sure you fully charge the speaker, especially after it has gone below 10%, and hit the auto volume limiter (designed to keep your speaker battery healthy & safe).
Then Increase the volume level of the wireless speaker and source devices. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Good mid-size portable speaker

Bluetooth connecting is very fast, and while not for audiophiles, I'm satisfied with the sound quality for what this is. I'm not gaga over the lighting effects but they are kind of fun. The grille wraps around the entire unit and feels like some sort of woven fabric; it is already starting to trap dust, lint and other small particles, and is not removeable. I have some concern that it will be difficult to keep clean over the long term.
