To make sure you are getting the most out of your new purchase, please make sure to download the Sony Music Center App. There you will find all new ways to control the sound and performance of your speaker There is even an EQ in there. You may also try the STEREO PAIR in which 2 SRS-XB33 speakers are required. By connecting 2 speakers via BLUETOOTH connection, you can enjoy a more powerful sound. We're sorry to hear the sound quality of this speaker did not meet your expectations. The XB33 was designed to be a very balanced speaker with focus on both vocal clarity & the Extra Bass you know and love as a Sony customer.
If you haven't, to get the most out of your speaker, please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your XB33 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.
Please make sure you fully charge the speaker, especially after it has gone below 10%, and hit the auto volume limiter (designed to keep your speaker battery healthy & safe).
Then Increase the volume level of the wireless speaker and source devices. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Best speaker a person could buy!

My husband was looking for a speaker that he could use outside when doing yard work. Since buying this he has used it outside next to the hot tub, in garage, in the bar, just so many places! Not only is it easy to use with your phone but we have also connected it via Bluetooth to our tv and our projector! We plan to buy a couple different sizes and use them separately and all together for surround sound!

For the battery: When fully charged, the speaker has an available operating time of about 24 hours when the volume level of the speaker is set to 36, the lighting function is set to off, and the sound effect is set to STAMINA. About 14 hours when the volume is set to 35, the lighting function is set to on (factory default settings), and the sound effect is set to EXTRA BASS (factory default settings). And you will get about 4 hours of use when the volume level of the speaker is set to maximum (50), the lighting function is set to on (factory default settings), and the sound effect is set to EXTRA BASS (factory default settings).
The actual performance time may vary due to the volume, songs played, the surrounding temperature, and usage conditions.
