Customers are saying
Customers love the SRS-XB41 Portable Bluetooth Speaker's sound quality, long battery life, and impressive bass. Many also appreciate its ease of use, portability, and the fun lighting features. While some found the price a bit high and the weight noticeable, the positive feedback on sound and convenience outweighs these minor drawbacks. The speaker's water resistance is also a frequently praised feature.

Not what I expected
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly bought it thinking about the brand and price and I’m totally disappointed. Battery is not that good even with the lights off , but the worst is the sound. The extra bass it supposed to go along with clarity. It kills the stereo and be comes just another loud speaker. Wasted money, I’ll keep it just for my tv but not for music.

Mine must have been dropped at the factory
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes as the sound was great. Then it all went downhill, the speaker would not hold a charge and then after two months of use the speaker just sounded muffled and turns off.

Sony disappoints
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little too much base, so when you have a song with extra base, the vocals are distorted.

Stupid behavior, ruins experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The battery gets below 25% and the volume drops to a whisper. You think, ok annoying, but I'll just plug it in, volume is still in "low power mode". You have to wait until it's fully charged and then the volume returns to normal. . . 3 hours later. No thanks. I bought a JBL Charge 4 instead, and it sounds better.

Mediocre product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is mediocre. It could win more users if it has a optical or other audio input.

Sony did it again
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the XB31 and loved it so much that I decided to try out the XB41. The battery is phenomenal and lasts a very long time. Sound quality is fantastic and the bass is booming all thanks to the Sony Extra Bass technology. The lights are a nice touch, but it's really more just an added feature that looks nice more than anything else.

Posted .Hi DeDe, We appreciate the feedback. We value your opinion and we would like to apologize if our product did not meet your expectations. The XB41 is specifically designed for audio clarity throughout its volume range. This is something our music-loving customers appreciate most. That being said the XB41 also gets very loud for its size and audio precision.
We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your XB41 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.
Please make sure you fully charge the speaker, especially after it has gone below 10%, and hit the auto volume limiter (designed to keep your speaker safe).
Then Increase the volume level of the wireless speaker and source devices.
You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
If none of these things help, please contact us.

Awesome speaker but some features didn't work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a chance to review the Sony - SRS-XB41, its a really great bluetooth speaker and Sony does a great job at bringing better products when it puts out a new iteration of a device. The sound and bass are awesome. Compared to Sony's lower models this version is just bigger and badder with an external power supply added into what you get in the box. With their smaller version of the SRS- XBxx series you don't have an external power supply, or have provision for one. they're only powered by USB but the XB41 has the option of being powered by USB or a dedicated power supply. The exterior of the speaker is very nice, I got black since it was easier to take care of and I wouldn't be so worried about getting finger prints on the fabric covered speaker. The XB41 is a great speaker for small get togethers with friends or even an office party but I wouldn't say it's a good one if you're having a backyard party as the sounds is probably not loud enough and don't echo back as they would in a room. I'd give this speaker a better score but I wasn't able to get the Party mode/ feature working. In the Party mode you can connect 2,3, or even more Sony Bluetooth speakers to spread your music throughout the party instead of one single location. Otherwise I'm really happy with the speaker itself and it's great crisp clear sound and deep bass!

Loud Speaker!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great party speaker. It gets really loud, perfect for parties or taking it outside to listen to. I love the design of the Sony SRS-XB41. It looks great. On the out side it is covered in a mesh fabric and lined with a trim which contain its lights. It has two strobe lights at the end of each speaker and two lights in front of each speaker highlighting them. It gives off such a cool effect when listening to music like you're at the club. You can always turn these off also. This unit feels sturdy and has some heft to it and feels well built. The top of the speaker has your usual controls. The back has a rubber cover that pops off to reveal a battery level button, wireless party chain button, add speaker button, DC charging, mini usb charging port, aux in port and a usb port to charge your phone. This speaker provides huge sound and bass to rock any room. I also like that you can adjust some sound parameters through the Sony app that you can download for iphone or android.

Bigger is better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the XB31, this XB41 is built like a tank, a bigger and better tank. It's hefty and inspires confidence that it can take knocks and bumps that will inevitably occur. Not worried about standing up to real-world Easy to pair with my phone, easier than the 31 for some reason. Haven't truly tested the range of the connection but have no concerns that, in my environment, it would be an issue. Black is unobtrusive and doesn't call attention to itself but the other colors are attractive as well. Go with what you like. So far battery life seems really good which is a definite bonus for a product like this. Sound? Of course it's tuned to thump and, if that's your gig, it pleases. But I like talk radio these days more and more...and the XB41 does not fail here. Tonal balance is colored, no doubt, but think in terms of AM versus FM radio when the DJ is talking between tunes...those mellow tones win every time. And this is a winner, by far.

Great portable speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this speaker for several days now and I must say that I really like it. The color is more burgundy than red, but it is a good looking speaker. Very lightweight, great sound and bass and the disco feature is kind of cool as well. When you download the app, you can adjust the light show and have the option of playing a drum kit or percussions along with the music by tapping various locations on the speaker. I also have the smaller unit, the SRS-XB31 and when you group them in the app, you can play music on both speakers simultaneously with no loss of sound or lag. Pairing them together was a bit of a pain, which is why i gave this four stars. I paired both speakers with my iPhone and it took me several tries, but i was eventually able to get both speakers to play. It was much more difficult when I tried pairing it with my Samsung Galaxy S tablet. It took me the better part of 20 minutes to get both speakers to pair so that i could play them in tandem. The pairing feature might not be such a big deal for most and if that is the case, this would be five stars. However, if that matters to you, then be prepared to spend some time getting it to work. The bluetooth pairing in itself could be easier. I didnt understand why after connecting the device via bluetooth in my device's settings, that I needed to also pair it again in the app. You have to bring both devices within arms reach of each other and follow the instructions in the app from there. Once the pairing is complete, the speaker is great. I would definitely recommend this speaker

good sound, loud, durable and waterproof
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used several bluetooth speakers over the years. I recently got a Sony SRS-XB31 and it blew me away, so I was really excited to try the bigger version of it, and to use them together. I also have the normal size and large size bluetooth speakers that look like black tennis ball cans, so I have lots to use for direct comparison, and that where this speaker loses a star. It has about the same sound quality of the larger black cylinder speaker, but the XB31 has much better all around sound. The midrange in this speaker sounds muddy and the high end gets lost when playing it loud. I've tried some of the EQ settings, and they're all one compromise or another, nothing as all-around awesome as the XB31. The app is kind of wonky, it's hard to get it to recognize and remember the speakers. Linking the speakers isn't as quick and easy as my other speakers. I was also disappointed that I couldn't use my XB31 and XB41 as left and right channels, I guess both speakers have to be identical for that to work. It also has speaker linking buttons on it, but I'm still trying to get the hang of getting them to work consistently. It's other features are pretty cool; the light show can be fun, that party booster that lets it add percussion to your music doesn't really interest me. The controls are pretty simple but they're not illuminated but you can find them my touch. I wish it had discreet forward and back buttons. It is waterproof and really durable, so that's a huge plus. I'd recommend this for outdoors use.
