Took it to Punta Cana and used it at the pool and on the beach. The sound was perfect. Excellent. Load enough with great clarity.

Great bluetooth speaker for the price! I actually use it for an external speaker for my tv in the bedroom.

But nothing to beat Bose the sound is not loins to fill a medium sized room need two at least but very good quality sound easy to operate and pair would recommend as a cheaper option to Bose or other products

-=+First Impressions+=- It looks visually appealing. This feels solidly built. It looks nice and offers deep bass if you are into that. I love the lights and ability to customize it to my liking. It is waterproof so I can take it to the pool or a BBQ and not have to worry about it. If offers a corny sound effect system (Party Booster Mode) in which you can add sounds to what you are listening to… just not for me but I won't dock it for trying something new. I had some trouble pairing the speaker through the app. For some reason it would say the speaker wasn't paired when it was and I had to disconnected it a few times to get the app to work. Use it like a regular speaker without the Sony Music Center app and it works just fine. Build 5/5 Built like an amphibious tank but not as ugly. I do not worry about this thing breaking and it offers waterproofing for added protection. Sound 4/5 It is the typical Sony sound profile. It sounds bassy and does not accurately represent highs and mids well once you go past 60% volume. Features 5/5 =NFC Pairing - simple one tough pairing. =Battery Life - roughly 24 hours to keep you going. =Lighting Effects - with speaker lights, line lights, and strobes you will have enough to keep you entertained. This ups the cool factor on this. Good gimmick to get the younger crowd in. =Built SOLID - Waterproof (IP67), dustproof, shockproof (MIL-STD 810 F Method 516.5) and rustproof. Need I say more? =Wireless Daisy Chaining - when you get this to work it is great. I struggled to get the app to establish a reliable connection and it force closed a lot. Maybe an update will fix this. =Grippy - the finish is conducive to a safer hold. =Connectivity Options - Stereo Mini Jack (IN), USB A Terminal (DC OUT only), micro USB (DC IN), DC IN Pros +Lighting Effects - strobe effects, mood lighting, and customizability are good. +Battery Life - rated at 24 hours, I never had to charge it the same day during use. +Grippy - even though it is big, I never felt I would drop it because of the finish and "squishy" build +Connectivity Options - Offers headphone jack along with bluetooth +Tank Build - Waterproof (IP67), dustproof, shockproof (MIL-STD 810 F Method 516.5) and rustproof. Need I say more? LOL Cons -App - the app is TERRIBLE! It often crashes when you try to group speakers. I tried grouping the XB41 and XB21 and it force closed every time. You need a few things to change sounds and colors to your liking too. -DJ Fiestable App - interface is poor but once you figure it out it works. -Sound - I was underwhelmed by the sound. It is bass heavy but quickly distorts with volume. Sound is not accurately represented but this is more of a fun speaker than an audiophile's dream. -Old Style Charging - You need to charge using a charge block rather than micro USB like other speakers. If you lose this, you will not be able to charge your speaker without buying another charger. The Verdict I cannot 100% say this is for everyone. If you are a Sony Fan and already have other Sony speakers you will probably like this. It has plenty of things to keep you busy and it is fun for a party for sure. At this price point, for sound quality alone, I would say there are better options out there.

I have the XB40 and let me say the XB41 is a sound upgrade over the XB40. Great sound at an affordable price. Love this speaker.

Great for home or outside. I would recommend it. Asap i’ll buy another one cause you can connect them both.

I would’ve given this thing 5 stars but the app is awful and I cannot shut off the lights. Other than that, it’s very loud and bassy. I had it at the beach and was able to hear it in the water with no worries.

I bought this for my son (18) and he loves it. It is compact, but it has good sound quality and it is loud.

We've been through a number of Bluetooth speakers but this one had been the best if you listen to hip hop.

Great device to listen to music on for cookout, nice conversation starter due to the light show. Claims to connect to 100 like devices, will need to purchase another one or two for outdoor "surround sound".
