I heard this same one,sound better at Walmarts. I'm not sure why, it doesn't sound as plain and good as the Walmart one.

This is a great "pill"-style speaker. The sound from these Sony speakers is excellent (I have the XB31 and the XB41). I'd say that they are comparable to the sound from the Bose soundbar that I have on my TV. The battery lasts for hours, so you can take this out to the beach, or wherever you are going. I have it set up inside at my desk, and the possible volume is enough to blow you away. Sony's app for controlling speakers: It is a good thing that Sony gives you a lot of options for controlling their speakers through an app. This makes the speakers themselves very clean and easy to use, but also allowing you to have relatively fine-grained controls over non-essential aspects (IMO) like the lighting of the speakers. I wasn't able to find any settings to match the lights to the music, but you can at least choose a color-scheme, and whether or not you want to have the strobe lights flashing. If you have the LED bars lit, you also cannot turn off the white-light in the speakers themselves. Personally, I just turn all of this off since it doesn't follow the audio. You can also control the EQ and bass boost. A nice feature with this app is that you can also connect multiple Sony speakers at the same time to expand the audio and really fill rooms. I haven't tested the range to see if everything is connected to the phone, or if the speakers are actually chained together, but it is a great feature if you want to place speakers around a room. Fiestable: This is a secondary app that Sony asks you to download. It is definitely something of an afterthought. You can act like a DJ with your phone, and add in random drum sounds (yes, actually random; even tapping in a pattern just generates random noise), DJ scratching effects, or make patterned movements with the lights. I think this is all unessential fluff which no one will actually use beyond messing around with it for a couple of minutes. This is a great looking speaker that definitely feels durable, with a battery that lasts a long time, and can even function as an external power-source for charging devices like your phone if your battery dies while you're out. I'd say this is an excellent portable or desk speaker, even with all of the non-essential fluff they added.

I totally love this speaker. I bought two of them!

I love the sound that comes out of this and I love the bass especially. IT also lights up with the music. This is also water resistant so you don't have to worry about it getting wet at all. This easily can get a medium sized room full of sound and if it doesn't or just want stereo sound you can also connect it with another speaker as well .

Pairing not a problem, but syncing with another speaker works better using the Sony app than the buttons on the speaker.

Its got multiple functions to maximize your listening experience...Live mode isnt that good yet
