Extra bass ya it's got that. And it sounds good at high volumes. My family loves music. It just helps us do stuff. So from cleaning house to working out side or swimming in the pool this speaker is with us. Our pool is 30 feet by 15 feet and with this speaker at one end you can hear it good not only in the pool but the whole back yard. The led lights are fun for a little bit, but for the most part we keep them off to save battery life. I do like the party chain where you can link up multiple Sony speakers. But chromecast would be great. The speaker it self feels like it's made out of high end material and will look good for a long good. And its totally waterproof so you don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain or if it's setting pool side.

Mediocre sound overall. I bought this on sale but I wouldn't buy it again. It's a flashy unit with the lights and colors (can be turned off) but the sound is very directional and a bit disappointing for a good name like Sony.

I am blown away by this speaker. I own quite a few but this one hits all the marks. I haven't even been able to use it to its full potential yet because at about half volume it was shaking my houset. The bass is bumping. Sound quality is very clear. the lighting feature is cool but I could do without it to save on battery life. the app lets you control many features of the speaker so i definitely recommend downloading it. I got it in red which I kind of regret, im more of a black electronics kind of person. but it still looks really neat. super portable. i dont think id take it to the beach for the day, its probably a little too loud and i wouldnt want to disrupt other beach goers. but over all im very happy with this purchase.

This speaker sounds great! There is bass to spare and the hi's are very crisp without sounding tinny. The added waterproofing to me is a must have (as the main feature of bluetooth speakers is their portability). The ability to add an additional speakers will def make your party jump and gives you the freedom to place your speakers anywhere without the worry of elements. So far the party has ended long before the battery. The overall design is subdued and easily slips out of the way during the day or it can be your focal point with the build in LED's once the sun goes down.

The speaker has excellent sound, as expected from Sony. But it's some of the other features that really makes this a good value. • Waterproof – you can take this to a pool, beach, or the shower • Speaker chain – this speaker can be chained wirelessly to many other Sony speakers. • Very little audio delay when watching videos – depending on the video source, the speaker does a good job (though not perfect) keeping the sound in sync with the video. Netflix in particular works well, even when multiple speakers are chained. • Long life – 24 hours battery life when the lights are off There is also a Sony music app to control even more settings such as fine tuning the sound, lights, power options and more.

These speakers are great, especially for outdoor parties by the pool. Due to being wtaerproof, and lasting up to 24 hours, the party can go on, rain or shine. These speakers also have the ability to be connected to up to 100 similar Sony speakers at once. The more of these speakers you use, the more immersive the sound experience is. With 100 speakers, you could achieve true surround sound. Since they include NFC (Near Field Communication), they are a snap to pair with your phone as well. It also includes party lights to liven up the scene at your next get-together. This, combined with the ability to tap different parts of the speaker to create DJ-like effects really makes this a true party speaker.
