Works great ,love the lights goes with the Beat of the music. Easy to connect with Bluetooth phone . Will be buying a second one to see how they pair together. Definitely highly recommend give it an A+

The sound level is amazing and room filling. For the price I have absolutely no regrets. There is quite a bit of bass - almost too much. I’ll be adjusting my iPhone EQ to compensate at some point. Bass-heavy music sounds great but classical and country would benefit from some eq. I would definitely buy this again.

By far my favorite speaker! Got one for myself and a friend as a birthday present! They are nice! And you can connect the speaker together and play from one device!

It might be odd to summarize a sound speaker review by immediately pointing out that it's good looking. But, I'm sorry, it really is. Especially, the blue model, which is the one being reviewed. It is brilliant, like a peacock or Caribbean blue. The material covering the speaker gives the color a neat added texture the way the light hits it. It really is a good looking speaker. To setup, I first did a charge of 5 hours right out of the box. No problems there. The connector/component door nicely seals off and covers ports and buttons when not in use. When I turned it on the speaker entered pairing mode immediately looking for a device to pair with. Which was first my iPad, then later an iPhone, and finally an Android phone. The prompts were easy to follow. You will need to hold your device in close proximity to the speaker at one point during setup as part of pairing. The speaker's sound quality is very clear, volume is responsive, and the increments are appropriately proportioned. Through the Music Center app, sound is adjustable, but with limitations. Three presets exist: standard, extra bass, and live sound. Standard is good for normal play levels, extra bass is Sony’s signature that allows for more lower end, and live sound is marketed as a way to utilize the physics of the speaker and create a 3D effect, allowing sound to be heard beyond just straight in front of the speaker. The extra bass feature doesn’t disappoint and really shines with music that is heavy on the low end. Standard is very nice, especially when used with the 3 band equalizer. The live sound option needs a lot of tweaking to get it to not sound like either a flat EQ or high mid sweep EQ. There is a toggle for ClearAudio+ which allows the app to automatically adjust the sound settings to what music is playing. This is a nice option if the user doesn’t want to fool with manual settings. The speaker's lights are a nice feature. The line lights are customizable RGB by using the Fiestable app. The speaker lights and the strobes are only white. The lighting mode is changed via the Music Center app. The best way I found to experience lighting modes is to have music playing because the lights flicker with the music depending on the lighting mode. It would be nice to be able to isolate lights. I would like to be able to turn off the strobes and speakers and only use the line light. This is not an option, however. The Party Booster is a feature that utilizes the speaker as a sort of percussion trigger, as in one could smack the speaker in a certain spot and make a sound like snare, bass, cymbal, or cowbell, for instance. Honestly, who wants to be smacking their speaker? Probably not going to be anyone's favorite feature. Motion Control allows the user to use their mobile device’s gyroscope to control certain features such as the Party Booster options, light effects, playback options (skip, pause, volume, etc.), and DJ features. Motion Control feels cumbersome to use and doesn't seem to be something adding anymore value to the product. Waterproof is my personal favorite feature. Yes, this speaker is indeed waterproof! It was tested in the shower under normal shower conditions (warm water, soap suds, at least 15 min exposure, etc.). Sound quality did not diminish, the speaker got soaked by splash and spray (it was not immersed), and it did not compromise the electronics. The rear door covering the ports stayed sealed. At last! A speaker to take INTO the shower instead of just hanging OUTSIDE on the counter or shelf. Overall, this speaker is worth the price. It has a lot of pretty cool features, the sound quality and build quality is very high, and it is truly waterproof. Very easy to use, with the exception of having to use two different apps to get the most out of the speaker. At this price point, however, it may be challenging to utilize the Party Chain feature (allows the speaker to link with other speakers and play off one device), which was not tested in this review. Still, cost aside, Party Chain sounds like a very promising option for a unique listening experience. I can highly recommend this Sony speaker to anyone for any use!

This is a great little speaker with excellent sound, bass, and battery life. For a stand alone, waterproof, wireless speaker of this size I couldn't expect anything more and I am extremely satisfied.

Once I got it set up it sounded awesome. Wasn’t fond of the live mode. I use it primarily outdoors, but it is loud enough that I can hear it throughout the house also.

The product is of great quality and I am impressed with the bass and sound that comes out. My only complaint is the use of the apps that is needed to install and use the product at first

I have 3 of these. They are perfect for outdoor parties and they have great sound. I use one at work and the people I work with always have a something good to say about its sound.

The Sony SRS-XB41 exceeded all of my expectations--especially given the reasonable price of $249.99, stylish yet rugged design, and quality sound. Additionally, the light bars illuminate and change with the music and do a remarkable job of adjusting to the different moods of music. First, the design of the SRS-XB41 feels very substantial as is it's size. It's not a small pocket speaker by any means, but would easily fit in a backpack, beach tote, or other carrying case and leave plenty of room for your favorite things. The special 'fabric' doesn't really feel like a fabric at all and would be very easy to rinse off should the speaker get dirty. This is especially good news for me as I like to visit the beach and have had issues with sand getting in other speakers. Without being able to wash the speaker, the sand is basically there to stay. There is a small access port in the back where you can charge the unit, connect to a 3.5mm jack and with additional controls. This access port/panel is covered by a thick rubber cover that stays put. The most important aspect of the unit is the sound. I compared the Sony SRS-XB41 to a Sony SRS-XB31 and Bose Soundlink Mini II which produces rich and room filling sounds. The Sony exceeded the performance of the Bose in all but one category--clarity. The base thumped more and provided the perfect level of music when I had some friends over. Even though the Bose outperformed the Sony with clarity, it only beat it by a little and I found the Sony's other excellent performance more than made up for it. Between the two Sonys, the XB41 outperformed the XB31 in all areas simply because of its size. I found the XB41 to fill not only my open kitchen and living room area, but my bedroom, bathroom, and office! Music was clear without being overwhelming. Rich sounds could be heard throughout my apartment. The light bars provide a mesmerizing experience. Whether you are chilling out with some new age syth or dancing to the latest EDM, the light bars adjust to provide the right atmosphere and keep you guessing with an endless variety of lighting effects. One thing that is important to me, the lighting effects can be disabled or restricted to a certain color/style of light transition. This is important as sometimes you don't want the lighting to feel like a rave. Maybe you just want a cool color ambient light to go along with your music and the app does allow you to make these adjustment. One critique is that I would prefer more customization such as being able to disable the speaker lights which currently isn't available via the Sony companion app. You can restrict it to keep the strobes from flashing and restrict it to a color range and even a "calm" atmosphere so the lighting effects are subtle. These are all great, but I just wish there was a simple on/off for both the strobes and white lights that illuminate the speakers themselves. The companion app with the Sony SRS-XB41 is useful to change the lighting settings, sound mode, and other less important settings. While the initial bluetooth connection took only a few seconds, actually getting the app to recognize the speaker even though it was already paired with my phone seemed to take more effort. Granted, it isn't required or even needed, but it could use a little tweaking to make the app/speaker interface a little more smooth. In conclusion, I think the Sony SRS-XB41 is an excellent speaker option. Given the price point of approximately $250, I think it's a bargain given the light bars, battery life (up to 24 hours), and sound quality/level. It could VERY easily fill a backyard with great full range sound. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something that is fun at home, fun at the beach, or wherever you decide to take it. Pros: -Sound quality -Bass -Build quality -Light effects Cons: -Companion App needs some work

These speakers are amazing. The sound is rich and can get pretty loud! Works even better if you have multiple so you can connect them to each other. Very easy to use!

This speaker is great! It is a good small size but it packs a punch! Loud and clear! I loved it so much I bought another one in a different color! It’s a great indoor and outdoor speaker.

The size is great and the volume doesn’t difference much from the bigger one so this one is perfect! I bought it for my husband, he is a contractor and uses it when he is at work.

This is my review of the Sony SRS-XB41 Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker. The SRS-XB41 is the largest model of three different sizes of this portable Bluetooth wireless speaker. There is also the SBS-XB21 and the SBS-XB31. The biggest difference is the size of each. The SBS-XB41, however, uses a different charge cord (included with device) that supplies a higher amount of voltage. The other two models use a standard USB for charging. These speakers are very good. I own the XB31 and this one, both which are blue. The material they are made from feels like something between plastic and rubber, very rugged, solid, and capable of taking a beating. They are waterproof with an IP67 rating, so they can be immersed in fresh water. They are also dustproof, and washable. The area where the internal battery is charged, the “speaker out” jack, the “party chain” button, and the “party booster” button are located, has a detachable section that when replaced tightly enables the waterproof feature. The standard music controls are all located behind the waterproof material at the top right side of the speaker and easy to depress. The sound is great. If you really like deep bass, you can add extra to the already bass-rich sound. I personally lower the bass a little and increase the mid tones and the treble to balance the sound out. You can do all of this through the “Music Center” App, which can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store at no cost. You have a lot of control over how your music sounds. Best of all, though, is how the sound seems to surround you. It is the way that the speakers are angled in the device and a new DSP technology which sends the music to a wider area. The sound coming from the XB41 is every bit as good as the sound production of the XB31 but can produce more volume because of its larger size. The XB41 is great for a larger room or maybe a larger gathering. Speaking of size, the SBS-XB41 is very easy to hold without feeling much, if any, fatigue in the arm even though it is the largest of the 3 different models. A fun feature that is unique to these speakers is the “Party Booster.” When engaged, you tap different places on the speaker to get various sounds like a snare drum or a cymbal or a bass drum. I have a lot of fun with this feature. These different features are all controlled through the “Music Center” App. I am impressed with how well the App works with the speakers. You are able to control the volume and the quality of the sound as well. The one setting that sounds the best to me is the “live” sound. It seems to produce a more accurate sound. It is a somewhat subjective opinion, but I suggest giving it a try. Then there is the “Party Chain” feature. You can connect as many as 100 of these speakers together through Bluetooth. I connect the XB31 and the XB41 and together they fill a room in a unique way. They also have colored lights that are coordinated with the music and sync together so that if you could have enough folks that own a model put them all together in a circle, they sync up perfectly, creating a neat light show in effect. I thought it was impressive with just two speakers synced up, let alone 100. Overall, I like the SRS-XB41. It produces great sound; it is waterproof, and dustproof; it is solid and has a quality feel to it; the Bluetooth is quick to connect with no lag; the ”Music Center” App brings it all together and it works flawlessly; the “Party Booster,” and the “Party Chain” add some fun into the mix. All of this is available at a reasonable price, and with 3 options to choose from, you can choose which one fits your budget. With all of that I give it five stars.

This speaker is amazing. So easy to set up and works great. Batter life is unreal. Lights are cool, but more interested in sound quality.

The sound is clear and loud, but the WPC with multiple isn’t as slick and easy as we’d like. We have two of these and ended up buying and XB60 for deeper bass and more punch.

Great speaker. Had it for about a month and haven’t charged it yet. That’s with using it every now and again. But this speaker is loud and clear. Can’t go wrong. Would buy again.
