Customers are saying
Customers love the SRS-XB41 Portable Bluetooth Speaker's sound quality, long battery life, and impressive bass. Many also appreciate its ease of use, portability, and the fun lighting features. While some found the price a bit high and the weight noticeable, the positive feedback on sound and convenience outweighs these minor drawbacks. The speaker's water resistance is also a frequently praised feature.

Small step up from the XB30
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a normal sized room the XB30 does a better job. I feel like the XB41 is meant for a larger room and I prefer the XB30 over the XB41. XB30 feels more portable probably due to the XB41 covering the speaker in clothe compared to a metal screen on the XB30. I got this on sale and the reason why I purchased. If I were you I would wait for when the XB30's go on sale for around $100. I own two XB30 and got them both for that price.

Good not great....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good if you catch it on a deal. 150 is about what I think it's worth. Not a 250 speaker. It's better than the JBL Charge 3 by quite a bit. Not as clear and precise as the H/K Onyx Studio 4. Sound can get muddy on the XB41 but not overly noticable and only on certain tracks. App and lights worked perfectly. Very easy to turn lights off. Sony site mentioned a 4' drop rating which is good but not mentioned in the description here. Overall not bad if its as rugged as they suggest.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use the speaker for work so I bought two as I am a painting contractor and I am in multiple rooms at one time I love how easy these speakers pair together and how easy my phone pairs to the speaker. Great sound as always from Sony.

Sounds great!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You get unbelievable sound from this speaker! ONLY 2 drawbacks that keep this speaker from getting 5 stars: 1) You get about 4/5 hours of play on one charge at full volume, not the 20 or so advertised, that's at lower volumes. 2) once it goes below 20% of battery life it cuts the volume down to about half volume. I know this is to protect the battery but is a feature I would like the ability to turn off.

Not bad for the price I paid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid 150 for this on sale. I had the beats pill XL, but had to return it due to a recall. So I decided to try this out because MSRP was about the same price, but it was on sale so it made it an easier choice. The XL has good bass, Im not a audiophile, I love bass in my music. But not as good as the XL. I think the JBL line has better bass in them, but for the price i couldnt pass it up. if its on sale get it, but if not, look at the JBL if you like bass in your music.

Great _Loud_ Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony SRS-XB41 is the biggest of the trio of Sony's 2018 lineup of portable waterproof Bluetooth speakers. (The SRS-XB31 and SRS-XB21 are the other models, which are smaller in size) The Bluetooth speaker market seems to be booming (pun intended) and I find it sort of amazing the quality of sound you can get from speakers of all sizes now. It seems like not too long ago you had to have large speakers and lots of wattage in order to get enjoyable sound. I'm assuming that improvements in small digital amplifiers, combined with reliable power sources results in the large number of options on the market today. As for the SRS-XB41, all of the basics are here such as: charging using a standard microUSB; the ability to use it as a power bank via a USB port; a standard 3.5mm input jack if you don't want to use a Bluetooth source; different exterior colors; and IPX7 and IPX6X ratings for waterproof and dust proof performance respectively. Besides the standard microUSB port, you can also use the included AC adapter to charge at a faster 5V 3A rate. Also, it is on the larger side of things which enables louder sound output. With that said, it appears that Sony chooses to differentiate this offering with some key features. First, it seems like Sony has used the term EXTRA BASS for decades, which is akin to the Loudness equalization. In practice, I like the sound signature for not being overly boomy, but still adding some equalization curve adjustments. Second, it supports the LDAC, AAC and of course SBC Bluetooth codecs. LDAC is one of the latest codecs that promises high quality and low latency. Thankfully Google was able to add LDAC support starting with Android 8.0 Oreo. The first time, you'll need to use hardware buttons on the speaker itself to allow access to LDAC. Apple devices at this time will have to settle for using AAC, which I found adds a slightly noticeable audio/visual sync delay. Third, the SRS-XB41 has integrated multicolor LED lighting than can be set to different modes to go along with the music. Since it uses LEDs the battery impact should be pretty low, but you can disable it all the same if you want. Fourth, a Party Booster function exists, where the speaker itself can add different sound effects whenever different sides of the speaker are tapped. (Okay, more like slapped; a light tap doesn't really activate it.) And last, but not least, a Wireless Party Chain function allows multiple (supposedly up to 100) compatible Sony speakers to be chained together. While Bluetooth 5.0 allows for multiple synchronized connections, it is not yet found/available in many devices. With WPC, I was able to connec both the SRS-XB41 and a SRS-XB31 to my Google Pixel XL and play music that was perfectly synchronized between the two speakers. The SRS-XB41 does report battery level via spoken voice when powered on, when the battery button is pressed, as well as shown in the Sony Music Center app. It does NOT report battery level to iOS or Android via the native means, which is a little unfortunate. The outer covering has a fabric feel, which is nice to handle and definitely a step up from the typical plastic exterior found on other speakers. I really enjoy the sound quality and output level that the SRS-XB41 is capable of. Due to its size, the output level gets quite loud. The LED lighting and Party Booster might be novelty things to use in certain situations, but will be unused most of the time for me. Since it supports LDAC, I prefer to use it instead of my other speakers that only support SBC or AAC.

Good sound quality & pricing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this XB41 when it was on sale, and it for sure holds up to its MSRP's pricing, the sound quality is really nice too and the app that you can connect with the speaker together works perfectly. You can control how the lights are lit up and how the sound sounds.

Nice bump to the sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it’s been a decent purchase. I really enjoy the sound in general and it fills out the room well. My only dislikes are that the “Live” function is not as good as I thought would be as the sound gets louder. Also, this could totally use a remote control which would put it at 5 starts even over the “Live” functionality. Also, random, but I’m glad you can turn off the lighting function cause it can get a little annoying.

Good stuff
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent speaker, useful in all ways, battery life isn’t great if you have lights on, but you can always turn it off and have it playing for more than 10 hours. I wish I could still get this but only XB 43 is available now :/

Party Speaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for something to bring out in a group setting this speaker is a great choice. The lights are an eye catcher that everyone seems to love. Two of the only issues I have are that it seems to lose battery power very quickly but it also charges pretty fast. The other is when using the app to control the speaker, it doesn't also seem to connect right away. Other than that it's a good portable speaker for the price.

long battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge fan of bose and almost went for the Revolve+ but this one just had so much more to offer. It looks and feels amazing and the best part about it is it's battery life! It says 24 hours and I have yet to test this claim but I don't see myself doing anything this long.
