The SRS-XB41 is proof that bigger is better. Sony has come up with a way to out do the already great SRS-XB31 and this is it. This portable speaker is louder, has deeper bass notes and more lighting. For the past week I have used this speaker as my surround sound paired with my laptop for watching Hulu. The voices come out clear and this thing drowns out unwanted noise. It’s also paired to my phone and when you need to get the party started this portable speaker is second to now. All around great speaker. It was easy to pair with multiple devices and the music center app worked great to give you control over the included functions. You can’t go wrong with the Sony SRS-XB-41.

using these on the back patio to project sound from a bluetooth TV. They work well and have great range. Carried them to the middle of the back yard and they still worked.

This was a Christmas gift for my son. He absolutely loves this speaker. It’s great and can pair with other speakers. Definitely worth the money.

I have 2 of these speakers & my son has one. I love that we can link them throughout the house or outdoors. The water & sand resistant makes it perfect for the beach.

This speaker is great when it comes to clarity, style, loudness however I'd use it for small get togethers. I love the color scheme of the speaker and the fact that you can pair it up with other sony speakers gives it that extra kick when it comes to loudness. Worth the try, try and get it on sale though

I put this speaker inside the shower and turn it on! It stays charged for so long that I cant remember the last time I charged it. I swear I charge it like once a month Lol.

When it comes to sound, Sony habitually produces quality products, and this one is no different. As a bass lover myself, this product hit the spot wonderfully, with nice, full, rich bass right out the box. Clarity at both high and low listening levels rounds out the sound profile here, and its accompanied by a built in Light show that adapts to the music being played. A couple of phone apps allow for greater control of the light and sound features here, but most will be completely happy with the standard settings. This is one of the first devices which I actually had to decrease the bass & lift the treble to adjust the sound (usually it the reverse), so folks who want a more balanced sound should prepare to use their EQ to make adjustments right away. The live mode adds more treble, but creates other problems in the process by unbalancing other areas of the overall sound quality, so again, keep that EQ handy for this device. The battery does last very long, amd ive had no problems listening to this device for lengthy stretches of time, but judging from the power levels after those lengthy stretches, I'd say the light show (and other features, if you use them) come at a battery cost, as this doesn't seem to get 24 hrs with the light show going along with the music. This will get you through a typical gathering or an extended evening fine, with power to spare, so no worries about battery life with this device. Overall, these speakers deliver a quality sound with very clear bass effects, and most music lovers will be happy with how full the sound is. It could probably have benefited from a few more built in EQ options aside from live mode, but it gets the job done, especially if you are partial to bass. You are paying a hefty cost for the light & sound effects, as you can find other less expensive devices with comparable sound quality to this, but if those features appeal to you (it is a VERY nice light show!) this is your product. Id give it a 4.5 overall, but am rounding up to 5 since it heavily advertises the bass, and DELIVERS in grand fashion. I Definitely recommend these speakers if the light & sound effects are your thing along with quality sound!

Every now & then a perfect speaker comes along, and the Sony SRS-XB41 falls into that category. Sound quality on the speaker, which is the first thing you should be concerned with, is outstanding. Deep, solid bass makes the music boom, but of course with the option to disable the “extra bass” (thus the “XB” in the product number) by clicking on the “Live” feature with the push of a button. But once you listen in XB mode, you’ll never use “Live” again. The “Live” feature sounds tinny and empty after you hear the bass pumped out by the speaker. The LED lights around the entire top & bottom edges, as well as flashing speakers & 2 flashing white strobes, illuminate in sync with the music, giving it a party feel, and all lighting can be controlled with a single button (on/off) or tweaked to any of a few million colors using the app on your phone. I found myself putting a single color in place to match the room it’s in & turning off the flashing strobe. I’m not holding raves at the house, so didn’t need the extra flashing. The speaker can be paired with another similar model speaker to make it a single-side speaker (i.e. you can make one speaker a “left” speaker and the other “right”, allowing you to spread them out for stereo sound). Or, you can pair it with another similar model speaker using a single button using the “Wireless Party Chain” mode & extend the sound onto dozens of other Sony SRS speakers, extending your music throughout the house. The outside is a tough fabric, mine was in blue but other colors are available. The device is also waterproof for up to 3 minutes in water, great if you’re using this around water. One warning is that the instructions claim that the waterproof features only cover “fresh water” and not pool water or salt water, which is more likely where you’ll find yourself dropping the speaker, so I can’t attest to the actual waterproof capabilities if you drop it in the pool or at the lake or beach. It also requires that the back panel of buttons & plugs be sealed with the cover, which further opens it to a risk, so just keep it closed. The battery is enough to last hours (official documentation says up to 24 hours), but also allows you to steal power to charge your phone with a built-in USB port, turning the speaker into a charging bank, which is great if you need a quick charge while on-the-go. Other ports on the back include AUX in and a micro USB port for charging (can we please start transitioning to USB-C?). These ports need to be sealed with the single rubber flap on the back when around water to maintain the waterproof capabilities. The app allows you to control the speaker, including speaker pairing, lighting, and sound quality, but in a frustrating feature you then have to download a second “embedded” app called Fiestable to be able to control the lights. Not sure why you don’t just make it one app. You cannot uninstall Fiestable without installing the Music Center app. The only downside to the speaker is it is a bit large (11.5” wide and coming in at 3.5 pounds), something you’re not going to want to make a handheld speaker, but who would anyway? At the end of the day, if you’re looking for an amazing speaker with incredible sound to take on-the-go, the SRS-XB41 is your speaker.

Sony’s SRS-XB41 is really well-built. The design is awesome, lights are great, loudness is great, overall great speaker/product, have had NO issues at all!

Very awesome sound!! Went to bestbuy to check out what they had several too choose from.... but after listening to this with the LED LIGHTS !! Choice was a big duh!!

The sound quality from these speakers are crisp and sound much better than bose products. The Wireless Party chain works great to connect 4 or more speakers!

I am always Leary with new stereos. Always wondering if it will be able to do all I need and expect and luckily this one does. Love the sound, the lights and the companion apps.

This speaker is perfect it’s the best speaker I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a great speaker this is the one! And i love the lights on it too!

I would definitely recommend this product. We use it all the time for parties in my apartment and it’s definitely loud enough that you could use it at a full house party too!

Love it, I bought it for my patio out by my pool, I was looking for outdoor speakers, found this and I have little under 1/2 acre and I can hear it anywhere in my back yard.

I love this! I have a 70 Chevelle with only am radio so I put this in the back seat and connect my phone to listen to good music. It’s perfect!

So far... Very good. Sound is excellent, bass is superb and noise go very high without distortion. Lights are a bit too much, but I dont mind them. I recommend the product.
