Purchased this speaker to play outdoors while sitting on the patio or to put in the cart when I play golf. Get lots of compliments on it's rich sound.

The sound quality is great. The color changing with the music is better. It’s great to connect to a friends that has the same speaker.

Awesome speaker! I use it camping, cleaning house or working in the barn. Better sound than my camper system.

I used this speaker for twelve hours one day, and it had good battery life left. I can take my phone inside the house and clearly be 60 feet away from the speaker and it still has good connection for Bluetooth. Outstanding sound out of that little speaker. Would definitely buy again and recommend to many people. I mainly wanted it for tunes around the patio and pool. It fills the whole backyard with outstanding sound. I do have a one acre backyard though. But very impressive. You can always depend on Sony speakers.

At the price point I would've expected more volume but it works well and we've used it regularly at the beach and outdoor movies. Having trouble getting other people's devices to connect with it, though. And, again, wish it was louder.

Very nice speaker for the size has big strong sound. Also like how it sinks up with another Sony speaker I got.

This speaker has amazing sound and the color features are fun the kids enjoy watching the colors move to the beat of the music!

We picked up two of these on sale for an outdoor wedding! So amazing, we now use them in the outdoor deck almost daily! Would highly recommend!

This is a speaker so the most important thing is sound. The XB41 is a great sounding speaker however it is a directional speaker. Others in the class are omni-directional so they seem to throw sound around it rather that in a direction (forward). Sony has tried to address this with the “live” option. It does a good job of creating room filling sound. At full volume there is a small amount of distortion but with the addition of Sony Music Center you have full control over the sound. The app also adds full control of the speakers light and party chain functions. The party chain feature is way cool. Either through the app or via each speaker (the app makes it very easy) you can connect multiple speakers via Bluetooth connection. The really enhances these speakers to the point I have found my new outdoor speaker system for drive-in movie night. Although this adds in cost I think they are worth it. Build quality is awesome, this is a solid speaker, includes IP67 rated water and dust rating. To test this we let the kids use it in the hot tub…still works. The control panel on the back has a protective cover that keeps all the other connections safe. The other connections are: - Battery status - WPC – Party chain - Add – add another wireless speaker - DC in <via plug and mini USB– great so no low battery worries while stationary, always ready to go. - Reset button - Audio in plug and audio out via USB - Battery life is indicated to be 24 hours w/out the light feature. I would estimate this to be pretty accurate at moderate listening volume. This also has some very cool lighting options, again better control through the app. Party Booster allows you to tap various parts of the speaker and create DJ synthesizer type sounds. Although gimmicky sort of we did get a kick out of it so I can see it being a hit around 2 AM on the patio with a resounding “hold my beer and check this out”…. The Fiestable app accomplishes a similar function as Party Booster by moving your phone around. Bluetooth functionality has been flawless in addition to Nearfield ability to pair with a touch. The speaker uses Bluetooth 4.2, but also has Sony’s LDAC codec onboard which is a higher bit rate audio. All has performed as described with my Pixel II XL. I think this is an excellent choice for a portable speaker and would recommend.

My son loves the sound out of this little speaker and we have used it by the pool and has been great for outdoor use as well!!
