So I've recently received my new Sony SRS-XB41 Bluetooth Speaker and this thing rocks. This Extra Bass Speaker is amazing. It has a very nice build quality that I've really only seen in Sony products. Along with the usual user manuals and such comes an adapter/charger that plugs into the back of the speaker and a wall socket. I love that as soon as you turn it on it automatically goes into pairing mode (if you hadn't already paired it with another device). On top of the speaker is the power button which also doubles as the pairing button (just hold it down for 3 seconds and it goes into pairing mode), the LIVE button which actually my favorite feature of the speaker, +/- buttons for volume control, and a call button as well. Once in pairing mode, it easily connects with different mobile devices such as your phone, TV, and up to 100 other SRS speakers to create like a party mode. I also have the SRS-XB31 speaker (which is smaller) but has the exact same features minus the adapter/charging plug. To use and properly pair the speaker, Sony recommends downloading the companion Music Connect app which has a ton of features/settings including the ability to change the light show to different colors and strobes. You can also opt to disabling the lights to increase battery life. Speaking of which, battery life is simply amazing. I played this speaker for like 12 hours straight and it was only at 50% when I stopped to check it. Another great feature is Party Booster which you can turn on in the settings of the Music Center app and it allows you to not only connect with other speakers but also turn on different instrumental Taps such as Drum Kit and Percussion. Its a very nice speaker and I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice bluetooth speaker.

If you're looking for a great sounding wireless speaker, this is definitely one you need to buy! PROS 1) Great sound! At low to moderate volumes, the sound is very well balanced and has great bass. At extreme to max volumes, you do lose some of the bass, but that's normal. 2) Battery life - at 24 hours of battery life, this thing will just keep chugging away! I've used it for several hours at a time over the course of a couple weeks and the battery only dropped to 70%. 3) Connectivity - This thing connected flawlessly to several different Bluetooth devices, the hardwired AUX mode works flawlessly, and being able to charge with the included adapter or over micro-usb definitively comes in handy. CONS 1) Lights - the speaker does come with built-in "party" lights, and while it looks like a nice feature, the normal automatic mode didn't do a ton for me. I suppose it could add to the atmosphere of a party, but there didn't seem to be a ton of relation to flashes and the music. I ended up just turning the lights off. 2) App - the Fiestable app could definitely use some improving. While the DJ effects worked okay, but some of the effects are a touch laggy, hard to actually sync up to the music that is playing. 3) Live Sound Mode - I found this mode to work best in a larger space, but I feel it goes overboard with the EQ in this setting. It makes the sound stage too wide, and you end up losing a lot of clarity. The speaker sounds the best in normal mode. OVERALL This is a great speaker with tons of features. If you're looking for a great sounding speaker with amazing battery life, you won't go wrong. I didn't get a chance to try party chaining, but for a larger space, that could definitely be a useful feature.

Having used the Sony SRS-XB41 for more than a month, I can surely say it's a solid Bluetooth speaker for anyone who needs something that’s loud, fun, outdoor-proof and have a great bass. I have been using the Bose Soundlink Revolve speaker for almost a year, and I was pretty much happy with that. However, after hearing the Sony XB41, I can no longer go back. The sound is so much bassy (as expected from an "Xtra Bass" touting model) and loud! If you need something to liven up the atmosphere while outdoors, this is it. Along with the standard array of features (speakerphone, NFC) you get really good batter-life and weather-sealing that can take some punishment from the elements. The cloth-like exterior is quite easy to wipe down if its get muddy or something. The wireless range is very good ( I was kind of disappointed with my Bose). Some "fun-filled" feature is also included. The front of the speaker is adorned with LED lights, which changes color and effects based on the sound tempo. You can also change it with tapping. Along with it can also add some "sound-effects" that I found silly myself. If you want a party speaker, I would suggest to give it a try at least - I think you'll find it really fun.
