Customers are saying

Customers love the SRS-XB41 Portable Bluetooth Speaker's sound quality, long battery life, and impressive bass. Many also appreciate its ease of use, portability, and the fun lighting features. While some found the price a bit high and the weight noticeable, the positive feedback on sound and convenience outweighs these minor drawbacks. The speaker's water resistance is also a frequently praised feature.

    Clear sound, in stereo

The XB-41 is a somewhat pricey speaker, but for the money you get clean sound, simple controls, and the ability to add a second speaker for true stereo sound, Pairing the XB-41 is as easy as holding the power button down for a couple of seconds. The sound from the unit is clean, with a sound profile that, as the name implies, leans toward heavy bass - at least as heavy as a small speaker can muster. Unless you drive around with your cap on backwards and the windows down, you’ll definitely want to turn off the bass boost on either the speaker or your phone. The expanded sound field works very nicely, giving the impression of sound coming from speakers that are more separated. With the bass boost off the sound is clean and clear, competing with my Beosound 5 units for clarity. Battery life is long enough that I’ve never run it down, so the 24 hour claim seems reasonable. The lights are designed to pulse and change with the music, and I’m just thankful there’s an off switch for them - although admittedly that may be my demographic speaking (get off my lawn, you whippersnappers). An excellent speaker all around. Sony definitely nailed it.

    Perfect Millennial Party Speaker

Okay, I didn't have 100 of these to chain together but supposedly you can. The sound out of these is great for the party atmosphere where people might be holding them and wouldn't look too odd banging on the side of them to make sound effects. You don't even have to worry if someone spills a drink on it as you can literally just wash it off under water, though not for the swimming pool. You can even party for a whole day listening without recharging your battery. You can even adjust the LEDs from an app for your iPhone/Android, including turning them off. Sound quality is on par for what you'd expect from a speaker of this price. Having said that, it is really targeting the home dance party scene, which it hits well, especially with the long battery life. I'm not sure if the typical user will really care if Bach or Mozart sounds good with it, though, as long as G-Eazy & Halsey does, for instance. Won't disappoint the right user, a teen / millennial who wants to play their music for the whole day away from power. You can even connect your phone to it to give it a charge, too, though that effects total length of play time.

    Sound that Shakes

Simple Review: The sound on this speaker is amazing and the fun feature of the colors is amazing to the beat. One issue that I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to but still wish it wasn't there. Is the fact that you have one of those proprietary cables instead of a USB C or Micro-USB like on the models below this one. Extended Review: Let's blast through the unboxing that includes the very generic massive unit which is clearly built well and designed to survive the moisture of my world. One issue I had above and continue to have here is the circler connection which means you can't just use any charger you need this annoying cable which is less likely to be found anywhere you go. I'm sure Sony had some charging problems that require this cable but still don't like that the model below this one uses a basic USB and this one doesn't. Performance is where you will look at that one little complaint and say "I don't care!" The sound is amazing, the bass is strong and it keeps it's clarity no matter the volume level. This is the speaker I grab whenever I want to entertain or just close my eyes and let the music take me. Sound is simply the best I've ever heard in a speaker at this cost point. It's on-par of a speaker I have that's TWICE it's cost. Last thing for performance is battery life, which it does have USB ports on the back to charge up units on the go so if that matters to you than enjoy. I have been using it now for about a week and I haven't had to charge it yet. I use it for 2-3 hours in the morning and at night and still haven't killed it. Battery life is solid without really have to go to in-depth with it. Wrapping up is this worth it...YESS a thousand times Yes! It's so close to a perfect 5 star it's sad. Once they change out that awful port than it would be the perfect Bluetooth speaker but until than I would say it's easily worth the money. Hope my review helps and thanks for reading it.

This is my second review regarding Sony's XB line of portable wireless speakers and the results are good. The XB41 is noticeably larger than the XB31 but without the significant weight increase. Design: The XB41's design looks very similar to the XB31 but the speaker drivers are larger and illuminated which I really like. The colorful LED lighting remains and the IP67 dust and water resistance are great of course. The lighting modes are activated by touching the speaker in different areas and it seems to be unchanged from previous models. AUDIO QUALITY: The bass is very strong and better than ever probably due to the larger overall speaker size and better drivers. Mid range detail is good and highs are decent but not the best; It is markedly improved from the XB31. I think I have come to accept that Sony products will always have superior bass clarity and power but the mids and highs will always trail behind. The XB41 allows linkage to multiple speakers (up to 100) to allow a truly room or yard immersive audio experience. Battery Performance: It has a reported 24 hour battery life which should literally give you a entire day's worth of playback usage. I have been listening to Pandora and music via my iPhone for about 17 hours so far and there seems to be plenty of juice left. I assume that the battery life would be less with the lighting effects active and so forth. PHONE CALL: I tested the mic by placing a few calls via iPhone to my wife and she said that my voice came across mostly clear without out too much noise or distortion; always a nice feature to have and surprisingly good compared to other wireless speaker mics I have tested. Overall an impressive portable speaker with terrific bass and good sound overall. It is a nice value although I am not sure if it is enough of an improvement over the XB31 to justify it.
