It was bigger and heavier then expected. BUT it sounds awesome. The bass hits hard and the highs are decent. The lights are a cool feature but i usually keep them off to extend the battery life. I am currently considering buying a second one.

It’s the perfect size any bigger would just be annoying. You can charge you phone to keep the music going . Loud inside a house and outside the sound travels well . I chose this over all Jbl options . The lights are a really nice touch also. The netting fabric over the speaker is kinda

At first, I thought I wanted some sort of micro shelf stereo but I think this is much better. I was having trouble finding a quality small stereo that also had Bluetooth and could play the songs that I had ripped from my CD collection. With this, I can play those music files that are saved on my phone, use streaming apps like Pandora, and with the FM Radio app I can play something like 50k+ radio stations from around the world including all my local favorites. With it being splash proof, I can take it camping or to the pool. I definitely recommend using the Music Center app to tweak the EQ to your liking. I mostly listen to classic rock (Boston, Rush, AC/DC, etc) and it sounds great to me. I leave the lights turned off, I don’t need them but I can see where some might like them. It has a USB-A port but that just is for charging your phone when the speaker is plugged in to it’s wall charger. I can’t comment on battery life because I charged it once and I used it about 4 days so far, a few hours each day. Hasn’t needed a recharge yet. I don’t know that I would pay full price for this but at the nearly half off sale price I think it’s great.

The speaker is a lot heavier and has a sub on either end of the speaker (for what reason, idk). The bass is not as heavy as the last model, but the sound overall is more precise. The lights on the previous model went around the entire speaker. These do not, BUT there are more round lights (white round lights) through the center, giving it a more strobe light feel. The pros do outweigh the cons, and I do love this speaker.

Bass is no too much where it distorts the sound, it's easily noticeable with songs that have good bass. The sound is great for this type of speaker. Loud, clear and great amount of bass. Of course LED lights ! Easy to connect to, definitely need the app for this, some important features to use to get the best sound out of this.

I took advantage of the fantastic Black Friday sale to buy my 2nd XB43 to pair them in Stereo Mode with the available Music Center App. Pairing the 2 speakers was fairly simple and intuitive through the app. Each speaker audibly confirms which one is left and right. As a bonus, the lights on both speakers work in concert with each other when paired. You can also control the volume of both speakers with either speaker. The app interface could use some refinements but hopefully it will improve in the future, however It works adequately for now. One recommendation... the height placement of this speaker makes a big difference on the sound of the highs (especially when standing it on end). Place it as close to ear level for the best balanced audio experience. If it is on a table, (standing on end) at waist height, it will sound a little muffled due to the bass projecting from the top. This is just the nature of acoustics and not necessarily the speaker. This just gives you a reason to try different orientations and placement for your best listening experience. You can also place it near a wall to bounce more bass towards you... lots of possibilities. Being wireless with Bluetooth lets you put it nearly anywhere! In the end, this is EXACTLY what I was hoping for from this "pair" of speakers! Separately they are great, together they are awesome! Rock on!!!!

Fills indoor space with plenty of sound and no distortion on max volume. Is a steal over the JBL line especially when on sale. Battery life is really good and great if you turn off the light show. The speaker itself is a little heavy, but it is worth it. The battery life is great and last at least 48 hours. The only downfall is that multiple devices can be connected at once so you have to be careful.

When one of the devices starts playing back while playing back music on another device, the speaker switches the output and starts outputting the sound from the newly connected device. Nice full range speaker for a fair price

I bought it for use out at my hot tub but I’ve been quite impressed with the quality of sound as well as the volume this speaker can produce so I’ll be using it for my gatherings in the back yard as well. The light show is gimmicky but it can be utilized with a variety of ways and can even be turned off all together. I feel the quality of the sound is worth the price of this speaker so the light show is just an added bonus for me. I don’t at all feel like I’m paying for something I won’t use, even if I don’t use it. I have a Marantz home theater with Klipsch speakers and sub as well as two pairs of Apple HomePods and 8 HomePod minis as well as Yamaha HS8 monitors in my recording studio so good sound is a requirement in my world. This Sony speaker is a welcome addition to my sound arsenal.

It also works extremely well outside and is water resistant. The sound is crisp and has a very nice bass response, especially for the size!
