Hi Jjones, Thank you for taking the time to review the XB43 EXTRA BASS™ Portable Wireless Speaker. When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only. When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by the AC adaptor (supplied). The sound may become low in the following cases but this is not a malfunction.
