But then took on a float trip and still sounded okay but not as good when you had it outside. The bass on it was just okay. Main reason we took back is because it doesn't float in water. We need one that will float.

While we're glad to hear that you like the overall sound quality, we regret to know that the unit had to be returned. Even though the unit is not capable of floating in the water, we kept the speaker waterproof and dustproof like the XB41, but the XB43 is shockproof as well. All of these things add up to our best sounding portable speaker to date, that can basically go anywhere you want to go.
