We're glad you're enjoying the amazing features and overall sound quality of the unit. The XB43 is specifically designed for audio clarity throughout its volume range. Depending on the music, the EXTRA BASS effects may not be so noticeable. To switch the sound effect from STAMINA mode to EXTRA BASS mode, press and hold the LIVE/STAMINA button for about 3 seconds. The STAMINA indicator will turn off and the sound effect will be switched back to EXTRA BASS mode. You can also change the setting of the Sound Effect with “Sony | Music Center”.

Hi Triice, Thank you for the positive feedback. The XB43 is specifically designed for audio clarity throughout its volume range. This is something our music loving customers appreciate most. That being said the XB43 also gets very loud for its size and audio precision.
We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine tune your XB43 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.

Please make sure you fully charge the speaker, especially after it has gone below 10%, and hit the auto volume limiter (designed to keep your speaker safe).

Then Increase the volume level of the wireless speaker and source devices.
You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
