Thank you for your time writing this review. We're sorry to hear if the charging port of your XB43 speaker is messed up. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot a potential charging port issue:

Inspect the port.
Check the cable. Be sure to use a USB Type-C cable (compliant with the USB standard) that supports the output current of your USB AC adaptor. Use of a USB AC adaptor with an output current of less than 1.5 A is not guaranteed for battery charging.
Make sure that the AC adaptor is connected securely to the speaker. Then, make sure that the AC adaptor is connected securely to an AC outlet.
Check power source. Try plugging the speaker into a different power outlet or computer's USB port to see if the issue is with the power source.
Reset the speaker.
Make sure that the speaker's software is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.

Hi Cruz, Thank you for the 5-star rating! We appreciate the feedback regarding the weight of the unit. The weight is due to the all-new X-Balance speaker design, and 2 new tweeters. We also kept the speaker waterproof and dustproof like the XB41, but the XB43 is shockproof as well. Oh, and even though we added more speakers, your XB43 still has up to 24hours of battery life. All of these things add up to our best sounding portable speaker to date, that can basically go anywhere you want to go.

The volume level of the speaker is set to 31.
The lighting function is set to off.
The sound effect is set to STAMINA.

About 14 hours
The volume level of the speaker is set to 30.
The lighting function is set to on. (factory default settings)
The sound effect is set to EXTRA BASS. (factory default settings)

About 4 hours
The volume level of the speaker is set to maximum (50).
The lighting function is set to on. (factory default settings)
The sound effect is set to EXTRA BASS. (factory default settings)

Hi Mtor, Thank you for purchasing the SRSXB43. We value your opinion and we would like to apologize if our product did not meet your expectations. The XB43 is specifically designed for audio clarity while maintaining its dustproof and waterproof design (not an easy task).

We want you to be able to get the most out of your speaker.

Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app.
Try out some of the preset sound settings and see what you like.
If all else fails, there is even an EQ for further fine-tuning.

You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission. LDAC devices tend to sound the best.
