Hi Carters, Thank you for taking the time to review the XB43 EXTRA BASS™ Portable Wireless Speaker. The SRS-XB43 wireless speaker blends deep, punchy bass with clear vocals for that signature festival sound. When you use the speaker at a loud volume for a long time, the built-in battery may run low even if the speaker is connected to an AC outlet. As a result, sound becomes low. This is not a malfunction. Turn off the speaker and charge the built-in battery sufficiently. Thank you for choosing Sony. Jay

We are glad you are enjoying the sound quality and long battery life of your new SRS-XB43! We appreciate the feedback regarding the weight of the unit. The weight is due to the all-new X-Balance speaker design, and 2 new tweeters. We also kept the speaker waterproof and dustproof like the XB41, but the XB43 is shockproof as well. Oh, and even though we added more speaker your XB43 still has up to 24hours of battery life.
