Posted .Hi Leysi, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your SRSXB43 speaker. The XB43 is specifically designed for audio clarity throughout its volume range. This is something our music-loving customers appreciate most. That being said the XB43 also gets very loud for its size and audio precision.
We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your XB43 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.
Please make sure you fully charge the speaker, especially after it has gone below 10%, and hit the auto volume limiter (designed to keep your speaker safe).
Then Increase the volume level of the wireless speaker and source devices.
You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.To start I would like to say that this is an improvement in sound quality over most of the other Sony speakers, like the SRS XB30 and the SRS XB41. The bass is a little better then both, and the mids are a lot more defined as well as some of the vocals. As for the volume, this is definitely louder then the SRS XB30, but its not louder than the SRS XB41, which is weird because it is almost double the size and weight of the XB41. If I put the volume down to 40 of 50, its just as loud as the SRS XB30. If you like sound quality, this might be the speaker for you, but I feel like you could get the same sound from the SRS XB33, at a cheaper cost, and it would probably be lighter, this speaker weighs 6.6 lbs, which is big for a speaker, but too big for the lack of volume. It looks nice and sounds nice, but I am returning it because of the lack of volume.

Absolutely love the sound

I love listening to it standing so I get more of the bass feel. Speakerphone quality is great from my end. None of my calls notice I was even talking using the speaker. I've gone 3 days or so before having to recharge. 1 thing that would make it perfect & me extra lazy would be the ability to turn the power on from my phone. That's not a deal breaker for the quality of sound in a small size.

Powerful Speakers!

But there isn't any tradeoffs with this, I think the Sony is actually better. Sound quality is great, especially for this size and price point. The fact you can charge with USB type-c is great for Android users. The only thing I wish Sony had was straps for the speaker to make it easy to carry. It is 6lbs and the shape makes it hard to carry with one hand.

The app based equalizer actually works like an equalizer should; cutting or boosting the desired frequency band. So many of the small electronics these days featuring an equalizer just don't get the implementation correct because they rely on poor DSP algorithms. Sony gets it right. My only complaint is the lights don't really sync with the music very well but they can be turned off.

Cant get bluetooth to connect

Phone would not play audio even though it says it’s connected. Unpaired the speaker and tried to reconnect and couldn’t get the speaker to show up in my bluetooth. Returning it.

The sound quality even rivals my wife's Bose Soundlink that was three times the price. I never expected it to sound as good as it does, and the battery just does not quit. I would prefer a lights-free option, however.

I bought my first speaker in late June or early July. I was really empressed with the sound of such a small speaker. Upon exploring the Speaker stats that two SRS's will make them Stereo. SO. I PURCHASED A SECOND ONE, both from Best Buy. The first one was from a store here in Kansas City Mo.(Tiffiny Springs Shopping Center). I bought the second SRS, from YOU GUYS! I RECEIVED EXCELLENT turn-around time from both BEST BUY STORES! I REALLY LIKE THESE SPEAKERS. I was supprised there are Best Buy stores still around. (They closed a few of the local stores several years ago). I count myself lucky to have found this SECOND speaker so soon.

It has Smart AI CPU powered lights on the front of the unit that randomize to the beat of your music which is awesome!!!! The sound quality out of this unit rivals audiophile brand equipment such as B&O the bass is immersive and the trebles are true and rich. I recommend this speaker to a younger audience only; 13-35yrs old as it has 2 app softwares that power and control it and a great many buttons that older adults might find confusing and daunting. They also might hate that it tends to blast rather than be a mellow speaker, this could power a whole house easily. If you like metal rap goth electronica and hardcore music this is the speaker for you. If you listen to softer genres look elsewhere this will be like playing out of a guitar amp and will tend to hurt your ears. Overall its just what I wanted and then some!!!

Outstanding speaker at a great price point

I'm almost shocked it isn't 2-3x the cost. This speaker is dust and water proof but why would anyone want to test that with something this good? The build quality on this unit IS impressive. I'm a life long musician - extremely critical of sound. I like a full range of frequencies - the lows, mids, and highs. This unit does VERY well in that regard but you need to download the Sony Music Center app to get the 3 band equalizer. For me, the magic showed when I boosted the bass by +10, cut the mids by -5 and boosted the highs by +7. I left the "extra bass" engaged. Out of the box, the speaker sounded sufficient but not good enough to keep - only after i downloaded the app to EQ did the device show its’ potential. It seemed to lack bass and was mid based. After "proper" EQ, the sound is warm (very important), clear, and sufficiently powerful. It maintains this character across volume levels. I purchased the taupe color and it's nice. It seems to be a "step up" in richness compared to the black; honestly, the XB43 seemed to be too nice to purchase in garden variety black. I've got the unit lit with the calm light bulb illumination. It looks GREAT! This is one of the best purchases I've made over the past 20 years. I could NOT be happier. Thanks, Sony.
