Great for ps5

Works great and is well worth the upgrade if you’re on the fence like I was. The upgrade interface is great as well.

The only thing that i find particularly annoying is that when using my tv remote to turn on the system it always brings up the receiver menu which has to be closed by the device record directly.

We also appreciate you bringing up the specific issue with the receiver menu automatically appearing when you use your TV remote to turn on the system. We understand how this can be a frustrating and annoying interruption to your experience. This behavior is often related to the "Control for HDMI" or "BRAVIA Sync" function, which is designed to allow your TV remote to control other connected devices. While this feature is very convenient for many users, we understand that it can also have unintended side effects.
We recommend checking the settings on your STR-AN1000 to adjust the "Control for HDMI" or "HDMI Settings" to prevent this from happening. You may find an option to disable this specific function, or to change how the system responds to the TV's power-on command. Swapping out my old sony reciever took me awhile,im not so good at it. Understanding the manual was not so easy for this old guy. At my age its the last one I will ever buy. Woks well with my 55 inch bravia xbr

So much more power than the Onkyo. My wife said it’s like being in a movie theater. Side note Best Buy is awesome I bought a fridge a Mac a stereo avr and they have been so helpful! It’s also on sale!

If you're a stickler for details, you may want to read other reviews. My biggest gripe with this unit is when it gets stuck on the "PELASEWAIT" message. It turns on automatically, I find it stuck saying "PLEASEWAIT," and the only way to move forward is to physically unplug and replug. This, unfortunately, makes it a deal-breaker for me.

Great Receiver Awesome Performance

That new receiver was good but not user friendly. Decided to jump back to this new Sony receiver. I'm completely satisfied and glad that I went back to Sony. Clearer Sound!!!

Many tuner-amps only allow FM. Sports fans appreciate AM. Use of a television as the tuner-amp's display (much like a computer monitor) is innovative and simple to use. Lastly the tuner-amp's eARC HDMI circuitry can be used for real 7.2 channel configurations. My ONLY complaint is being unable to listen to radio, enjoy a music CD, use a phonograph turntable or other audio source when watching television, except the television's audio. "Smart" electronics are a bore. Lastly, the price made it a good buy.
