Sony support was fine until…….

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I called Sony support about a loud noise coming from inside my brand new Sony STR-AN1000 when I turned it on or off. The noise was intermittent but loud enough to be concerned that the unit was bad. The support was nice and helpfull until I got connected to whoever they assign to handle customer complaints that they can’t immediately resolve. After telling me that the noise (and I mean noise not a click) the AV unit was emitting was normal I requested to speak to someone else. To make a long story short she disconnected the call. Thanks for the help Sony.

It has more than enough power, sound is clear enough as I feel like I am in the concert hall itself. I am still getting to know all of it’s features. I was very impressed as to the setup of the system in conjunction with the speakers (Klipsch regency 7.2).

Actually has more speaker channels than I use as the two side channel speakers would need to be battery powered and who wants to be recharging batteries to watch a move. Nice feature if you have a way to plug in side speakers.

We sincerely apologize that you are having trouble connecting your soundbar to the STR-AN1000 A/V Receiver and for the frustration this has caused, as we want you to experience its incredible sound quality and features, like Dolby Atmos and 360 Spatial Sound Mapping. Given that this receiver is primarily designed for connecting and driving up to 7 dedicated speakers and two subwoofers (7.2 channels), connecting a soundbar can sometimes require very specific steps, usually involving the HDMI eARC/ARC port on both the soundbar and the receiver, so we strongly recommend reviewing the receiver's Easy Setup guide or reaching out to Sony Support for direct troubleshooting to ensure the soundbar is properly connected and assigned as an output.

The unit kept randomly shutting down from overheating??? Ohm tested all speakers, and cleaned ends of wires making sure there were no stray strands. Happy to report have had no issues since.
