    Only a month in, still learning the ropes of it. Good receiver, annoying that all the web app functionality for streaming services run through your phone or whatever other device you are using. Sound quality is good, remote control and app are terrible.

    I called Sony support about a loud noise coming from inside my brand new Sony STR-AN1000 when I turned it on or off. The noise was intermittent but loud enough to be concerned that the unit was bad. The support was nice and helpfull until I got connected to whoever they assign to handle customer complaints that they can’t immediately resolve. After telling me that the noise (and I mean noise not a click) the AV unit was emitting was normal I requested to speak to someone else. To make a long story short she disconnected the call. Thanks for the help Sony.

    Excellent quality and easy to setup. Actually has more speaker channels than I use as the two side channel speakers would need to be battery powered and who wants to be recharging batteries to watch a move. Nice feature if you have a way to plug in side speakers.
