Great upgrade from my previous receiver which was not 4k compatible

Fantastic system for the price. We originally had an Atmis soundbar, but we were not impressed with the surround, even with wireless surround speakers. This was only a little more (we had our front speakers from the old setup), with much better sound spatialization. Even better, we can add additional side or top surrounds and it doesn't block the bottom of the TV like the soundbar did. One con, the connection to the wireless surrounds sometimes gets a little choppy (seems like other Bluetooth devices interfere), but this is easily resolved with recalibration in the system, and the system recognizes when the connection is bad and will suggest recalibration.

This is an amazing receiver, with outstanding sound quality and it is EZ to operate.

I like the Improvements over my Sony STR DN850. Sounds great and the wireless ability for sub and surround speakers is flawless. Really nice to get rid of the speaker wire. I am no audiophile, but to my ears this receiver sounds great! The price is good for the quality of this receiver. The Sony 360 spatial sound puts this above any receiver in this price range, maybe above anything under $1000 in my opinion

I purchased the Sony STR-AN1000 last September, and it has been a fantastic addition to my home theater. I use it with my Sony TV, and I’m really impressed with the overall performance. What stands out the most is the audio cable connection between the receiver and the TV, which noticeably enhances the clarity of movie dialogues, making them louder and easier to understand. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase!

This livens up my living room and brings you into the video game or movie. I feel like I am in my own personal movie theater thanks to this and the OLED TV I purchased from Best Buy.

Excellent receiver. I connected my 4 Sonance in-ceiling speakers and the sound quality is amazing! I also connected my 800w Rocker Shaker Subwoofer, and sounds great. I wasnt sure what port to connected to since the receiver doesn't have a "subwoofer" indication, so I connected it to "center", seems to be working great though.

This is an excellent amplifier. For me, it's a welcome improvement over 790. This is not to imply the 790 was not good. It's not on the same level is all. The extra watts per channel and set-up provides a much better listing environment. Especially when connected to the sony 7.2 system using two subs moves are amazing.

Unbelievable how easy this receiver is to set up. I have two front speakers, two mid speakers, and two rear speakers set up with banana plugs. I also have two Xbox consoles and a Nintendo Switch hooked up. The ethernet port is a great addition so you can bring up the menu on the TV to set everything up. After I hooked up the receiver, it wanted to do an update to the system which worked flawlessly. if you have any doubts, go on YouTube and watch some videos, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend.

2nd A\V Receiver from Sony. It has exceeded all of my expectations. Set up takes patience, but it is worth it. It is the Brains for all My New Sony Gear: X90L TV, SA-SW5 SubWoofer, Elevation Atmos Speakers, Core Series 5" 3-Way Speakers, Core Series 4" 2-Way Center-Channel Speaker, SA -RS5 Wireless Rear Speakers, UBP-X800M2 4K Player, and Stereo BT Turntable. They all play very well together. The only complaint will be from the Neighbors!!!

This is a very nice receiver which has a lot of input options and I needed to use those and so I purchased this receiver and it was a good swap for another receiver which I am going to use upstairs. The receiver is pretty easy to use and so is the remote control. The receiver also has mute and a digital volume and can be turned down and even muted such that the receiver can be turned on in order to be used as a passthrough communication device. I use headphones a lot and so that is very important feature. The receiver takes what seems about 30 seconds to turn on when the system is powered on from a switched conditioner power. Thank you for the receiver Sony and Best Buy.

Great sounding system. I had the previous 1080, The sound quality is better and the setup is easy. Not a huge fan of the 360 field like others, def love the Dolby

Excellent sound and sufficient inputs and outputs but switching difficulties and poor remote prevent a higher rating. The receiver appears well built and sets up easily.

This is my third unit, had to return two of them. They are very glitchy. The first two froze with no audio and nothing on the display screen. This one has a cracking (popping) sound coming from my speakers when scrolling through Netflix posters (using my Sony Tv's built-in app). Sometimes when I turn on my tv, the receiver display screen says "Please Wait". And that can last a few minutes before the receiver actually starts playing audio from TV. It's a shame that I'm having these problems because the receiver sounds great. Hopefully a Software Update will make this receiver more stable.

This replaced my 5.1 STR-DH590 Sony receiver. The sound quality is much cleaner and fuller than the previous amp with the same speakers. I added the front up firing Atmos height effect speakers too and the surround effect is so much more spatial. The auto calibration process was easy. It although like most I have used set my speakers to large format. This disables the subwoofer. Manually setting them to small and setting the crossover values took care of this error. Would recommend this AVR receiver to anyone!!

I think this receiver is a great receiver. The sound and clarity is great. However, there is a problem with the software. The receiver cuts off and on randomly. There is a period of 3-4 seconds of blackness and sound. If you look online this seems to be a common issue with this receiver. However the sound is great and it clears the picture or upgrades the picture very well.
