Stereo arrived without ability to produce sound. Best Buy representative Ms. Jasmine was very kind and nice in helping me set up a replacement. Will review product again once replacement arrives.

I purchased this to replace my pioneer that died on me.there are a lot of a m stations that people still listen to. I purchased another brand and told everyone about my experience with this a v receiver.

Sony claims 100w per channel but I could immediately tell that was not true. I have old school Cerwin Vega speakers and this receiver had trouble powering them. At low volumes, the bass would drop out completely. At high volumes, there just wasn't enough headroom or power to sufficiently drive my Cerwin Vega's. Disappointed, I returned this receiver and purchased the Yamaha 200w 2ch Stereo Reciever (model #R-S202BL) that sounds much better and drives my Cerwin Vegas easily. This Sony stereo receiver is weak, IMO, and does not deliver a powerful sound.

I bought it for use by my turntable, but something seems off. Either it's this or my speakers, but I've ruled out the turntable by plugging it into my bose.
