We sincerely regret that you are having an issue with your STR-DH190 within a month of use. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have. If you haven't yet, please follow these steps if no sound or only a very low level of sound is heard from specific speakers.

• Check that the speakers and device are connected correctly and securely.
• Connect a pair of headphones to the PHONES jack to verify that sound is output from the headphones. If only one channel is output from the headphones, the device may not be connected to the receiver correctly. Check that all of the cables are fully inserted into the jacks on both the receiver and the device. If both channels are output from the headphones, the speaker may not be connected to the receiver correctly. Check the connection of the speaker that is not outputting any sound.
• Make sure you have connected to both the L and R jacks of an analog device, as analog devices require both L and R jack connections. Use a stereo audio cable (not supplied).

Thank you for the review. When matching speakers and Audio/Video (A/V) receivers, the ohm rating of the speaker should be equal to or greater than the ohm rating of the receiver to avoid a risk of hardware damage. Any speakers that feature bare wire connection will work to this receiver, as long as their impedances are from 6 to 16 ohms.

Speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. When determining which wire gauge to use, consider how far away the speakers are from your amplifier or A/V receiver. Generally, for short speaker wire runs, a 16-gauge wire is sufficient. However, for longer speaker wire runs (to another room, for example), it is better to use a thicker, lower-gauge wire. Hope this helps!
