      Hi Mike, We're sorry to hear that the volume level of this receiver did not lived up to your expectations. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have. For low volume issues, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

      -Check that all connecting cables are
      inserted to their input/output jacks on
      the receiver, speakers and the devices.

      • Check that VOLUME on the receiver is not
      set to “VOL MIN”.
      • Press SPEAKERS A/B to select a setting
      other than “OFF SPEAKERS” (page 20).
      • Check that headphones are not
      connected to the receiver.
      • Press  (muting) to cancel the muting
      function. “MUTING” disappears from the
      display panel.
      • Try pressing the input button on the
      remote control or turning INPUT
      SELECTOR on the receiver to select the
      input to which you want to listen.
      • The protective device on the receiver has
      been activated. Turn off the receiver,
      eliminate the short-circuit problem, and
      turn on the power again.

    Horrible. Does not handle Power Speakers Bose 901's. Shuts off at low freq's. Horrible.

Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. Make sure to connect speakers with impedances of 6 to 16 ohms. Verify the speaker connection and check if there's a loose wire that might cause the issue. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the shutting off issue when listening at low frequency.

      1. Turn off the Audio/Video (A/V) receiver.
      2. Unplug the power cord of the A/V receiver from the AC outlet.
      3. Ensure that all the A/V cables are connected securely to the proper input or output jacks.
      4. Move the A/V cables away from any AC power cords.
      5. Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet.
      6. If possible try to replace the speaker cables.

      Hi woodshop5, We regret to hear that the unit had to be returned. This stereo receiver doesn't have a cable/antenna connection but it has multiple ports such as 4 stereo RCA audio ports, Bluetooth, FM antenna port, and phono input for a turntable. Since most stereo receiver doesn't have an antenna or cable connection, I'd suggest using the antenna/cable input of your TV then connect your TV to this receiver instead.     Great Receiver for BlueTooth Integration

    I purchased this almost a year ago so i could connect to my patio speakers (pair of Polk Audio RC80i) over bluetooth from my phone or iPad. It works seamlessly. After pairing, it's always ready. I can sit on the patio, connect from my phone and it's ready to play Pandora, Spotify, or whatever. The clarity is awesome and there's more than enough power to tick-off the neighbors. Not that I would of course. Perfect function for what I was looking for!

    Simplicity Redifined!! I had this up and running in minutes, the directions are easy to follow and understand...and there wasn't a need to search the internet for directions which should ALWAYS come with a product. There isn't any scratching your head trying figuire out where a function is hiding, everything is clearly labeled on the remote. So, you can label me old school and after 30+ years my old Pioneer system decided it was time. I wanted a few simple things from this system...the ability to play my cd collection from my Ipod and the ability to connect to my Sirus account. i had to spring the $50 bucks for the Sirus home reciever, but its mission acomplished and for the fraction of the cost of a wifi enabled receiver. I really didn't want it tethered to my cell phone, but who knows maybe someday. I'm not an audiophyle by any means, but my old Bose speakers sound like they are fresh out of the box again, and the new Kef's are singing blissfully away. I like having the option of switching speaker sets in different rooms, which some of the higher ends systems seem to lack. If you just want to listen to pristine music without the fuss this is the system for you. Job well done Sony!!!

    Fantastic 2 Channel Receiver

    After almost 15 years my old Insignia receiver bit the dust so time for a new receiver. Since my use is for music no need for a surround unit. The sale price made the purchase a no brainer. Hooked it up to my pair of 6ohm Dayton speakers and 12 inch Monoprice subwoofer and the system cranks. I now realize the old receiver had some serious spund issues. The Sony is clear as a bell and passes the bass to the subwoofer through the speaker outputs with ease. Sound quality is excellent, not audiophile but close enough for my ears. No issues with the 6ohm load. The Bluetooth is AAC and works great, Sound quality is good but not quite as good as the Insignias Aptx. If you are looking for a good 2 channel receiver this is the one to get.
