Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the STRDH190. For volume issues, please refer to these troubleshooting steps:

-Check that VOLUME on the receiver is not set to “VOL MIN”.
-Make sure you have connected to both the L and R jacks of an analog device, as analog devices require both L and R jack connections. Use a stereo audio cable (not supplied).

The subwoofer out jacks are only available on the STRDH590 or STRDH790.

Hi Rudyhannock, Great! Good to know you that this is what you've been looking for in a stereo receiver. We also appreciate your feedback about the power output of the unit. Make sure the volume is not set to “VOL MIN”. Please try to press the VOLUME + button all the way up to see if there will be difference with the sound. Check that all connecting cables are inserted to their input/output jacks on the receiver, speakers and the devices. Make sure you have connected to both the L and R jacks of an analog device, as analog devices require both L and R jack connections. Use a stereo audio cable (not supplied).
