My Sony Story

Service was very good. When I got this receiver and took it out of the box, the unit looks a lot better in person than on-line. It was a bit hefty which to me speaks to Sony making a solid unit. Then I hooked it up the dvd player and my Mirage speakers tweeked bass ,trebel, and mid range to suit the room. All I can say is wow I never thought I could get a unit with the sound bit puts out for well under $300.00. If you need a new receiver and you have a limited budget this is the one to buy! Bill K

Great item, just took longer than promised

We recently signed up with Spotify, and wanted a new receiver that we could hook up our existing speakers to, and this one is perfect! I would have given 5 stars, except that the item wasn't received until a week after it was promised.

Good system for the money

Have it paired with so mid range speakers and the sound is OK, I'm sure it can drive better speakers. BT is good but it connects and turns on as soon as it detects a device which is a little annoying. All in all a solid receiver for the money.

We are sorry if the Bluetooth function of this receiver did not meet your expectations. As part of the normal operation, the receiver connects to the last connected BLUETOOTH device. The BLUETOOTH connection will be disconnected when you perform either of the following operations:
• Switch the input.
• Turn off the BLUETOOTH function on the BLUETOOTH device.
• Press BLUETOOTH PAIRING.
• Turn off the receiver or the BLUETOOTH device.
• Press BLUETOOTH on the receiver again.

The knobs do feel kind of cheap but I mainly use the remote anyway. Bluetooth sounds and works great as well. Super happy with this receiver, especially for the price.

I just listen to music CDs and receiver pairs nicely with my Elac speakers. My ear is not too sophisticated, but the sound quality seems fine to me. As noted by other reviewers, putting the speaker wire into the ports took a little extra effort. In a perfect world, I wish the receiver had a USB port to plug-in my MP3 player. Finally, the remote has functions that are not intuitive without the remote. For example, changing the amps for my speakers required the remote. The instruction manual does not provide an alternative if your remote breaks or goes missing.

Good Sound

Great Sound Easy Set Up

No all situations need surround sound but this does allow you to attach 4 speakers. You can turn on the unit simply by attaching via bluetooth which is a great option for locations the remote does not reach.

Quality product, but not perfect for us.

Unfortunately, when we tried to connect our older turntable, it was unsuccessful and there was only a loud screeching noise. We are still trying to figure out if our turntable can be used with this system.

To connect a turntable to a stereo system, the stereo system should have a PHONO input. If a PHONO input is not available, the turntable must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the stereo system.

It is clean, and the sound quality is exceptional for an entry-level system. I bought new wire, and speakers. This makes all the difference. I use a Sony CD/DVD player. I am going to buy another set of new speakers for the other room: all new- fresh start. My turntable is Ok, but I will probably buy a new one. The remote is a lot of fun.
