    Immediately bluetooth connects to my phone and my fiancé’s, however still having issues connecting it to my television sound

      Hi CandiceM, While we're pleased to know that it connects seamlessly with fiancée's phone, we regret to hear you're having some issues connecting to your TV sound. This receiver is designed to receive a Bluetooth signal from a smartphone or tablet. We do not recommend connecting this receiver to your TV via Bluetooth as we cannot guarantee its operation. I'd suggest you hook up your TV to one of the four analog audio inputs of this receiver via RCA analog audio cables.     What's happened to Sony? Two previous Sony purchases hit the dumpster after failing prematurely. This receiver had a defect straight out of the box; the display panel was dead. Spent nearly an hour with Sony in an online chat trying get it to work before the Sony customer rep declared it defective and gave me a service order number. That would require mailing it to Sony and waiting several weeks for them to repair or replace. I will of course return it to Best Buy instead, which is still a pain because I live in a remote area. Doesn't Sony test their stuff before selling it? It used to be such a primo brand. The Pioneer receiver I'm replacing worked with zero problems for 25 years.

    Always have had good luck with Sony in the past,but the new edition of this 2 channel only has a useless plug in antenna. In my opinion Sony should go back the coaxial connection or maybe add it as a secondary hook up

      Hi Slatz, We're sorry to hear about the issue you're having. You can't connect an external FM antenna to your A/V receiver, but you can improve the FM reception.

      Adjust the position of the supplied FM wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the reception condition is good.
      Place the antenna near a window.
      Position the antenna as horizontally as possible.

    you get what you pay for. The speaker connections on the back of the unit are not even banana plugs. Just cheap clip style that will only accept a small gauge cable. But, it works, Ok for my kids stereo

      Hi TLAConsumer,

      We regret to hear that the Bluetooth function of the receiver is not working. Make sure to follow these steps when pairing a Bluetooth device to the receiver:

      1. Place the Bluetooth device within 1 meter (3.3 feet) of the receiver.
      2. Press BLUETOOTH PAIRING on the remote. “PAIRING” flashes on the display panel. Perform step 3 within five minutes, otherwise pairing will be canceled. If pairing is canceled, repeat this step.
      3. Perform pairing on the Bluetooth device to detect the receiver. For details, refer to the operating instructions of your Bluetooth device.
      4. Select “STR-DH190” on the Bluetooth device display.
      5. Start playback on the Bluetooth device.
      6. Adjust the volume.

      If you are trying to listen to a paired Bluetooth device, please refer to these steps:

      1. Turn on the Bluetooth function of the Bluetooth device.
      2. Press BLUETOOTH on the remote. The receiver connects to the last connected Bluetooth device and the device name appears on the display panel.
      3. Start playback on the Bluetooth device.
      4. Adjust the volume.

      If still not resolved, reset the receiver to factory settings. Please refer to the steps below:

      1. Press (power) to turn off the receiver.
      2. Press and hold (power) for 5 seconds. “CLEARING” appears on the display panel during initialization. When initialization is complete, “CLEARED ” appears on the display panel.

      Note: It takes a few seconds for the memory to be cleared completely. Do not turn the receiver off until “CLEARED ” appears on the display panel.

    I'm sure this is a nice receiver but it had to be returned. Salesman sold me incompatible components together.

    Not happy with open box Sony receiver

    I ordered an open box receiver on-line. I received it and the phono output was bad, so I had to un connect it all and return it to a BestBuy store for a refund.

    Hooked a new Sony record player to this new receiver and sound 8s horrible. Distorted. Tried hooking old record player to receiver. Same thing. Will be return this receiver

    Left in the box for the first six months, my mistake...bought as a replacement for another unit that died slowly. worked for about 4-6 months. This unit only used in garage when outside (maybe on weekends). quit working sent to NY for repair, gone for several weeks. worked when returned , now being used this spring, worked for about 2-3 times and died again....... 2 months after warranty exp. only advice is to RUN from sony products.
