I just listen to music CDs and receiver pairs nicely with my Elac speakers. My ear is not too sophisticated, but the sound quality seems fine to me. As noted by other reviewers, putting the speaker wire into the ports took a little extra effort. In a perfect world, I wish the receiver had a USB port to plug-in my MP3 player. Finally, the remote has functions that are not intuitive without the remote. For example, changing the amps for my speakers required the remote. The instruction manual does not provide an alternative if your remote breaks or goes missing.

I have it installed in my garage with 2 Bose bookshelf speakers hooked up to it. Sound is great and is very user friendly. Buy with confidence.

Music great in stereo, turntable connected through pre-amp and bluetooth works well and pairs quickly and easily allowing to switch between devices and TV. No input to take digital signal from TV but haven't had any issues with lag using Bluetooth.

I have been unable to install the unit yet. The story is as follows. The electrical power in my house is messed up, with lights flickering, dimming, surging power to fans, etc. Due to this problem, I lost an excellent Onkyo receiver, even behind a surge strip (which also burned up), hence this purchase. However, the electrician I first hired is stumped, and I am still trying to get another one out here. I won't hook up the new unit until I get an all-clear on clean power. My quantitative evaluations should be read with this info in mind.

I purchased the sony STR-DH190. The sound quality is very close to what i had with the higher priced unit. I feel for the price & features this model is very good.

She is not an audiophile, however she does like streamed music from a two channel stereo. I typically will choose Sony before other brands, quality is usually pretty decent. I did set this receiver up for my daughter, it is a solid feeling unit and quite heavy for 100 watts, which tells me the power supply is fairly decent. Set up was quick, sound was pretty good for the price. Not made in ROC.

Very switchable output for every input, including a discrete phono; and plenty of power for my 4ohm speakers. Much easier to hook up and use than the 1080 it replaced since I don't really need the video functions in this location.

It is clean, and the sound quality is exceptional for an entry-level system. I bought new wire, and speakers. This makes all the difference. I use a Sony CD/DVD player. I am going to buy another set of new speakers for the other room: all new- fresh start. My turntable is Ok, but I will probably buy a new one. The remote is a lot of fun.
