I had this receiver for almost a year now and I love it. It was very affordable and is perfectly matched to my Sony bluetooth turntable. It sounds great connected to my SVS prime satellite 2.1 speaker system. I needed a receiver and this one perfect.

LOVE THIS RECEIVER. EASY TO USE AND SOUNDS GREAT. I ALSO LIKE THE FACT THAT YOU CAN PLAY BOTH A AND B SPEAKERS TOGETHER. I'VE GOT A LATGER SET OF OPTIMUS SPEAKERS WITH A 10" WOOFER AS WELL AS A NEW SET OF KLIPSCH 5 1/4" WOOFER. NOT ONLY DO THESE SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT TOGETHER, THE SONY HAS ALL THE POWER TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GREAT SOUND.

After 2 years of use with the 1979 Technics turntable - this is a fantastic receiver. Well engineered, well assembled. It delivers fantastic sound, well balanced across frequency bandwidth. with up to 100W per channel it has enough horsepower. Amazing to travel back to 1970s listening experience. Its is important to follow up impedance settings according to the speakers specification. And it is very easy to do,

Good quality receiver. I use this in my pole barn while working on equipment. It has blutooth streaming, which is what i need for Spotify play lists. My old Yamaha died and only one channel was working. This sounds good enough for what i use it for and was reasonably priced. I dont need 7.2 Dolby out there.

For the price point, it's really hard to beat this for a home turntable set-up. I run 4 speakers (2 bookshelf speakers and 2 subs) through this, and also have a tv running through it. The ease of turning off the subs when watching something like sports or news on tv with the press of a button is a nice feature. It won't replace an equalizer if you're trying to tune your sound (I run a seperate equalizer through it since I'm a jazz record guy and I like to be precise with sound), but it offers a solid out of the box sound. Volume output is surprisingly loud and clear if you like to crank up the music like I do.

If you're still trying to decide between this one, or the Yamaha or Insignia receiver, just stop. This is the one. I needed this receiver to power a pair of 100 watt Sony bookshelf speakers I have in my listening room. I also needed a receiver with a Phono input for my record player, Bluetooth, and an Aux port. This receiver MORE than met the challenge. It also has A and B speaker channels, but I'll likely never use that function. In short, this receiver rocks. Great purchase all around.

I bought this product based on some features same level of products other brands don´t bring. Phono input is a must when it comes to connecting a turntable and you prefer not to use additional gear. Bluetooth, on the other hand, is also a mist for those who just want to play music at home without the need of standing close to the source of sound. The sound is clear throughout all the frequencies in the spectrum or, at least, at those frequencies my rusty ears still can percieve. I recommend this product.

I'll start by saying I'm not an audiophile. I simply needed a replacement amplifier for my stereo system because my old one from the late 80s finally stopped working. It was a Sony too. I like this receiver because it's simple to use and takes Bluetooth and auxiliary inputs unlike my old receiver. The sound to me is at least as good as my old Sony and the price was really good. I'm just using this to play songs in a family room and not trying to build some super fancy movie screening room. For what I needed this for it's worked very nicely over the last six weeks.

Great piece, i needed a simple amp to switch between a couple sources including Bluetooth capability when we’re at the racetrack camping. Super easy to use, virtually zero setup. Drives 2 Polk 6.5” monitors very well and is loud and clean. Will use in my shop when not at the track. Awesome piece

I bought this to replace my 30 year old Yamaha receiver which finally stopped working. Being in my 70's and not hearing as well as I used to, I figured I would give this a try. Well, I am very pleasantly surprised. My wife and I both think this sounds better than the old very expensive Yamaha. Plus we now have built in bluetooth which we paired to our Echo, and now we just say Alexa play Pandora. We use it as a stereo system in our sunroom and back porch and so far this unit far exceeds our expectations at a very reasonable price. Simple to operate and sounds great. We couldn't ask for anything more.

What a great receiver/amp! Plenty of input allowed for record player (with special plug in that seems to improve the sound), cd, and dual tape decks. Simply has all one needs for a home stereo receiver/amp (including Bluetooth!). Highly recommend this equipment. Lives up to the Sony name!

The unit worked just as described. Very simple to use, easy to set up and understand. I am using this receiver for both indoor and outdoor speakers, the two separate channels allow for the ability to switch from indoor speakers, outdoor speakers or both playing at the same time. The power of this unit is plenty to crank up the sound. Overall, very happy with the purchase, good value for the money and would recommend to others considering a Bluetooth compatible receiver solution for your home stereo needs.

I read some negative reviews about this receiver, such as not enough power or they didn't like the front panel... Unfortunately they never say what kind of speakers they use, whether they are properly rated for the amp, what kind of cables they are using and the length of the cable run. ALL of these things affect playback power. I use pro speaker cabling with a maximum run of 10 feet for both cables. The sound is very nice and balanced. I didn't think I'd like the 2 knob controller for volume and input but now I love the simplicity since you can adjust things by hand without looking to see the knobs. Yes you have to use the remote to adjust bass and treble but I almost always leave playback at flat EQ since I'm a professional musician and audio producer working in a fabric treated control room. To the folks who have this receiver in their garages, I'll say you can't expect to get good sounding audio in a garage no matter what you use. Most audio FX boxes and DAWs have a reverb setting known as "Garage." It makes things sound like the speakers are in a, yes, a fricking garage, which is great for punk or grunge, but not much else. Yes, the radio tuner buttons blend into the front panel as does the speaker switch so if you use those buttons a lot you may want to put a small bit of tape on one or all of them or shine more light on the front panel. I don't use them since I don't listen to analog radio and I only have one pair of speakers. For me needs and budget, this Sony is very good. I still have lots of vintage records so the phono input jacks was a factor over the similarly priced Yamaha.

This receiver is priced so low, that it's pretty amazing that Sony can offer it at this price.I even took advantage of a sale price. The receiver uses discrete output transistors, which sound better and more reliable than power pack IC output stages.Even has a phono stage, unlike many receivers today.Sound quality is fine.Maybe an AM section would be a nice addition.Like some people have mentioned, the FM antenna connection isn't great. There should be a normal 75 or 300 ohm connection. Some complain about the speaker connectors, but they are adequate for a receiver at this price.Includes a 2 year parts and labor warranty, which you probably won't need, but with high costs of repair,it's good to have. Not only that, most problems with electronics occur early,so if you get past 2 years, should be few likely problems, until the device gets 10 years or older. So,if all you need is a 2 speaker system and don't want to waste extra money, this should work fine.

Excellent value for the money. This receiver is for audiophiles that want to play vinyl records and maybe an occasional CD. Plenty of power to drive your music loud, has the option for two sets of speakers, phono jack, and Bluetooth for the post-vinyl listeners. This receiver does everything my 1970-1980 receiver did at a great price. This is not a home theater receiver. This is a stereo receiver.

This provided all of our entertainment sound needs. It has options to provide sound for two different set ups, which is what we needed. The price was great. It took a little bit longer to set up, but once we got it set up it was great. It can easily connect to our phones via bluetooth and once connected you can turn it off and on from the phone, which is a plus. The only downside is the tuner isn't the best for FM Radio. There is no antennae, but I think once we get a antennae it will be better. It's not on all the stations though. I would recommend this receiver.
