The Sony 2 channel stereo receiver is awesome. It's very clean sounding, has 100wpc to drive my JBL 4312 monitor speakers and rear speakers, and actually makes my former Rotel receiver a thing of the past. It's easy to use and one doesn't have to be a computer expert to operate it.

    Sony STRDH190 Receiver Review

We purchased this Sony receive to replace an old, high quality, Rotel tuner/receiver that we have had for over 50 years. It is the perfect replacement model as it supports all the inputs the Rotel supports, except for the fact there is no AM tuner. There are even A, B speaker connections that allow both speaker channel sets to be in use concurrently. The sound quality from it is excellent. We love the bluetooth feature that allows us to connect our PCs to it for additional sources of music. The price was excellent!

For the price this is easily a 5 star purchase. It is used primarily as a turntable amplifier and for Bluetooth streaming for music. Pros: The phono pre amp input sounds great, lows are detailed and prominent which is usually a weakness for built in budget priced amplifiers. It’s also nice that it is adjustable in gain to match other input levels. The Bluetooth pairs as quickly if not faster than any other device I own. The remote is easy to use as are the menus in the receiver, so much so that a quick run down is all that is needed rather than a training session for other more feature packed units. Power is more than adequate for my medium sized room mid level listening. I haven’t needed to get to it’s full capabilities and crank it all the way up to be happy. It LOOKS far more expensive than it cost. Cons: Actual 12 gage speaker wire is a tight fit into the spring jacks. The ground screw for phono isn’t removable forcing me to change the ring connector on my ground wire to a forked connection. No sub out, but any sub that can accept speaker level inputs negates this. Conclusion: Anyone looking to get into or back into vinyl but still wants the convenience of streaming would be happy with this if you’re not hung up on brand or the prestige associated with price tag. Bang for your buck is outstanding.

Hi zmzamarripa, Thank you for the amazing and detailed review of your STRDH190. Good to know you appreciate the phone input made for a turntable, easy Bluetooth pairing, easy to use remote, powerful sound, and well-built unit. We appreciate your feedback about the speaker connections and the lack of subwoofer connectivity.

Whether you choose to enjoy the warm sound of vinyl via the phono input, or stream music from your digital music collection, you’ve found a perfect match. Don’t forget the receiver’s A=B function lets you connect two pairs of speakers. You can easily switch between A or B or use them all together at the same time. When you factor in the low-profile design, we’re sure you’ve found the flexibility and performance you’ve been looking for. Thanks for choosing Sony! -Sam Sony_US

The Sony STRDH190 is a basic Stereo Receiver that covers all the basics for enjoying your music collections. The Phono Input allows you to use any turntable to play your vinyl collection and the other inputs are suitable for CDs, MP3s etc. The Bluetooth input allows for easy connection to a cell phone. There are no HDMI inputs or outputs so this is truly a music focused stereo receiver. The included remote controls all the basic functions but is not a "universal" remote. Sound quality is very good with plenty of power for my bookshelf speakers. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this stereo receiver.

For the price, you can't beat this receiver. It has what you need for a basic 2-channel stereo system. I bought this to power a basic second system in another room. I like that it has a phono circuit and built-in Bluetooth for easy streaming from my phone. The sound quality is good, not great. The sound is somewhat flat/sterile without a lot of dynamics, and the bass/treble controls don't have much impact. To be fair though, I'm comparing it to the other high-end equipment I own. For such a low entry price, this is still a good receiver. Just don't expect audiophile quality.

This is an excellent inexpensive 2 channel stereo receiver. The Bluetooth feature works well with no problems. I access the blue tooth wireless with my cell phone and tablets and effortlessly play music apps that sound great. I have easily attached my cd player and cassette deck to the receiver. I purchased this Sony receiver because it has phono inputs so that I can play my vinyl records. It allows you to attach two pairs of speakers. The unit has more than enough power to drive the speakers. A great unit.

Works fine, as advertised. New Bluetooth feature is very cool, as I can even play long, extended music clips on You Tube as nice, soft background music. And some of those are even without ADS! Have my 5 CD Changer hooked up to it, along with a dual cassette player, which I still use. And a great sales price of $200, $50 off list price, a real bargain.

I needed to replace an older Sony amplifier. I was looking for a simple, 2 channel unit with a grounded phono input. This for the bill beautifully. The sound is crisp and clean. Plenty of auxiliary inputs, plus a bonus to connect portable devices through a mini plug. Bluetooth connectivity was a nice extra as well. Only drawback is that it could use a bit better tonal controls. It had the typical bass and treble. Could use a mid or benefit from being through an equalizer. But, for a solid good-sounding unit, it's hard to beat the value at this price point.

This is my second unit. I have one set up to run my speakers on my deck and this one is for my office. I bought it for three reasons -- Bluetooth, Phono input and price. I wanted to set up my old turntable so Phono input was crucial. The Bluetooth is great too. The unit is on standby until you connect to it via a Bluetooth device, then turns off when you disconnect, so it is great for locating in a hidden location.

Purchased to power a pair of Kicker patio speakers. I was expecting a little bit more kick, however for the price it’s great. I used to have a counter top Sony that really made the kickers pound, but this gets the job done. Bluetooth connects with much ease and provides good length when out back. It does tend to skip, like a CD if we all remember. But not enough to complain. A little on the larger side but as expected.

This met our needs perfectly! We had a receiver that was more than 40 years old, and it had started having multiple problems such as static and not receiving radio signals very well. The Sony - STRDH190- 2-Ch. Stereo Receiver with Bluetooth & Phono Input for Turntables - Black not only works perfectly but also receives more FM stations and in general provides a much better sound.

Over all I have been very happy with this purchase. I wanted a receiver for my turntable that gets used sparingly. While my son wanted something with bluetooth. This works for both of us quite well and did not break the bank. I would highly recommend this for someone that wants to combine the new with the old, without having to spend a lot of money, and at the same time getting a product of good quality.

First, it's a Sony. Sony has been around a long time and have produced reputable products and this unit is no exception. It has enough bells and whistles to keep you happy like bluetooth, turntable input and a few others. It will accept 4ohm speakers up to 8ohms and a remote control. It's eezy-peezy for someone like me who just wants to hook up his turntable, use my phone to bluetooth my preferred music and enjoy the great sound it produces.
