Posted .Hi Mike, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your STRDH190 receiver. We're glad you like the ease of setup and use of your new receiver. Make sure the volume is not set to “VOL MIN”. Please try to press the VOLUME + button all the way up to see if there will be difference with the sound. Check that all connecting cables are inserted to their input/output jacks on the receiver, speakers and the devices. Make sure you have connected to both the L and R jacks of an analog device, as analog devices require both L and R jack connections. Use a stereo audio cable (not supplied). It performs just fine, and based upon its relatively low price, it;s a bargain. I wanted a simple receiver with a remote control, this is it. I gave it only 4 stars because the application (use) is not demanding. I wish it had a sub-woofer output, I did purchase a sub-woofer to go with it, which also works fine, and the inputs/outputs on the [Polk] sub-woofer render a specific output unnecessary. I would recommend this receiver.

Sony 2.0 Stereo Receiver

I have 3 receivers--Sony STR-7025--1975 receiver, Toshiba 1980's receiver, and an Onkyo -1990's receiver, that all out perform on the Bass output. The Sony and Toshiba actually out-perform the Onkyo. Other than that, the Sony Bluetooth Stereo amp is really nice. I love the remote control aspect too.

Decent Unit

The only issue I have is that it takes about 5 seconds to "turn on" after hitting the power button.
