Thank you for the 5-star rating! We're very happy to hear you're satisfied with your purchase and you like the great performance of the receiver. Unfortunately, this AV receiver doesn't have an output for a subwoofer. The available inputs and outputs on the subwoofer will determine whether or not the subwoofer will be compatible with this receiver. Check the subwoofer to determine if it has IN and OUT speaker wire connections. If so, connect the left and right speaker wires from the stereo receiver into the left and right speaker IN on the subwoofer. Then, connect speaker wire from the left and right speaker OUT on the subwoofer to the left and right main speakers. If the subwoofer does not have IN and OUT speaker wire connections, then it will not be compatible with the stereo receiver.
Whether you choose to enjoy the warm sound of vinyl via the phono input, or stream music from your digital music collection, you’ve found a perfect match. Don’t forget the receiver’s A=B function lets you connect two pairs of speakers. You can easily switch between A or B or use them all together at the same time. Yet mine had the bluetooth fail after 2 weeks and now at 11 months old it stopped playing audio completely and goes into protection mode constantly. My buddy's has zero issues.

Thank you for the review and we're sorry to hear what happened with your AV receiver. It depends in the speaker setup that you're using. We recommend connecting wired speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. When matching speakers and Audio/Video (A/V) receivers, the ohm rating of the speaker should be equal to or greater than the ohm rating of the receiver to avoid a risk of hardware damage. To resolve your protect mode issue, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this article.

Definitely worth spending a bit more for this as it sounds better with no "buzz" when no input signal. No hdmi, would have been nice to have at least 1 as I drive a pair of speakers and a garage TV with this. Bought for speaker A/B ability, now I can drive an outdoor TV/stereo set up with 1 receiver :)

The styrofoam that protects the receiver during transit was one side of the receiver broken in half just stuffed in the box along with the plastic bag they wrap the receiver with at the factory. The manual was in the box, but the antenna wasn’t. So i can’t use the radio which is why i bought it. The receiver has no power. Volume setting turned up to 40 and still needs to go higher. There is a footprint of a toddler on top of the receiver. He wasn’t happy with this receiver either?!

Great value for my needs

Posted .Hi Unhappy, We regret to hear you are having an sound level issue with your Sony receiver. Make sure the volume is not set to “VOL MIN”. Please try to press the VOLUME + button all the way up to see if there will be difference with the sound. Check that all connecting cables are inserted to their input/output jacks on the receiver, speakers and the devices. Make sure you have connected to both the L and R jacks of an analog device, as analog devices require both L and R jack connections. Use a stereo audio cable (not supplied).

Receiver gets the job done but it’s only 2 channels. Before I knew it, I was connecting something else and wished I would’ve gone with a different one. Overall, good receiver though.
