I have recently been through two brand new Sony 2.0 Stereo Receivers (STRDH190). The first one came out of the box with a giant dent in the backside of it. Bestbuy replaced it very quickly by shipping me another one. The second unit appeared fine but the display would not come one. I read up on troubleshooting guides and figured maybe the dimmer or display settings needed to be configured. I was not able to get the display on at all. Factory resetting the unit did not help. My advice stay away from this model.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very Simple Stereo Receiver, 2 channels (100 watts each), it has option for four speakers, and 6 audio inputs. Ideal for turntables or your novice vinyl player. The stereo receiver comes with the receiver, remote control, FM wire antenna, start up guide, and operating instructions. There are 2 large front nobs, one for input selector and of course volume. You can preset 30 FM stations, and did mention this stereo receiver is Bluetooth compatible? You'll need speaker cables/audio, phono cables, or 3.5, stereo audio cables. You can even connect your game console system to it via video output jack and audio signals (audio cables). I like that you can use this stereo receiver via Bluetooth option with your smartphone or tablet, its simple just press the Bluetooth pairing and select "STR-DH190" on your smartphone and you are all set. I used this stereo receiver for play station 4 pro and my smartphone, using my 2015 Sony 4k television, and an old vinyl player i purchased in a garage sale. I used 2 mackie's CR3's speakers with this receivers, and i was surprise by the sound quality. Although these were not the best quality speakers they still sounded great. i like the idea that i can switch channels with the remote control instead of manually switching between them; over all this is a very simple stereo receiver and for the price it's a great product to have for your home entertainment system. I would recommend.

In order to hear music from my IPhone via bluetooth connection the receiver volume has to be turned to max volume. Very disappointing for a Sony product.

Posted .Hi Gsch, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your STRDH190. You can't connect an external FM antenna to your A/V receiver, but you can improve the FM signal reception by following the steps below.
Adjust the position of the supplied FM wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the reception condition is good.
Place the antenna near a window.
Position the antenna as horizontally as possible.

nice stereo for beginners

It has a lot of the modern plug in jacks ,but the sound quality is terrible for having 200 watts. My garage stereo has 200 watts and blows this thing away. Plus no loop hook-up for equalizer. If you want good quality sound look for the stereos made from the 70s to 90s.

Thank you for the feedback. It is unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. You can adjust the tonal balance of the speakers by treble and bass. You can adjust from –10 dB to +10 dB in 1 dB

Make sure the VOLUME or MASTER VOLUME knob of your AV Receiver is not set to VOL MIN.
Make sure headphones aren't connected to your receiver or input device.
Press the SPEAKERS button on your receiver and select a setting other than OFF SPEAKERS.
Try switching to a different input source.

Although the unit doesn't have an equalizer, you can adjust the tonal balance of the speakers by pressing the TREBLE + or TREBLE – repeatedly to adjust the treble level.
