    I don’t know what happened with the receiver I got but I could not get it to turn on. Plugged it in and would not power up. Tried different outlets and surge protectors and would not turn on. I think I got a bad one probably.

    I was just looking for something basic with which to set up one of my turntables and listen to some of my records again and I picked up the Sony because, frankly, it wasn't going to bankrupt me. Setup was quick and easy and within minutes I was listening to some great 70s R&B singers. My record player is a DJ favorite and I invested in some great needles for it. Still, I wasn't quite expecting quite the richness in sound that the receiver provided. It works really well with all the components I already have. I really like it. I also like having an FM receiver again, which was totally easy to set up. And that I can establish a bluetooth connection means that I don't have to reach for my headphones each time I want to listen to some of my downloaded music. All in all, and with the low price point in mind, I am very happy with this.

    Wasn't what I was looking for but I purchased and try it out since the sale rep highly recommended this. Wasn’t as loud as I want it to be so I had to return next day.

    I honestly was very disappointed with the tonal sound quality from this unit. It needed to be returned. It was my expectation that even a low end Sony should have some richness. Not.....

    Sony receiver was utter trash&Major waste of time

    While the product was received on time, in a pretty box, the nearly 15 year old receiver it was to replace performs better than the what I bought brand new. Utter garbage. My old receiver would over heat and short out. I purchase nearly the exact model to replace the old. I excitedly connect a couple speakers. Power up the receiver, cd player powered up, pushed play....and the sound output was literally that of a pair of old headphones. Head phones not on one's head, but imagine laying the head phones down, turning up volume and walking 20' away. That sound. Utter trash. Nearly 3 weeks since returning and no refund. No wonder the big boxes can't compete w/ Amazon.

    What's happened to Sony? Two previous Sony purchases hit the dumpster after failing prematurely. This receiver had a defect straight out of the box; the display panel was dead. Spent nearly an hour with Sony in an online chat trying get it to work before the Sony customer rep declared it defective and gave me a service order number. That would require mailing it to Sony and waiting several weeks for them to repair or replace. I will of course return it to Best Buy instead, which is still a pain because I live in a remote area. Doesn't Sony test their stuff before selling it? It used to be such a primo brand. The Pioneer receiver I'm replacing worked with zero problems for 25 years.

    Immediately bluetooth connects to my phone and my fiancé’s, however still having issues connecting it to my television sound

This receiver is designed to receive a Bluetooth signal from a smartphone or tablet. We do not recommend connecting this receiver to your TV via Bluetooth as we cannot guarantee its operation. I'd suggest you hook up your TV to one of the four analog audio inputs of this receiver via RCA analog audio cables.     Always have had good luck with Sony in the past,but the new edition of this 2 channel only has a useless plug in antenna. In my opinion Sony should go back the coaxial connection or maybe add it as a secondary hook up

      Hi Slatz, We're sorry to hear about the issue you're having. You can't connect an external FM antenna to your A/V receiver, but you can improve the FM reception.

      Adjust the position of the supplied FM wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the reception condition is good.
      Place the antenna near a window.
      Position the antenna as horizontally as possible.

    you get what you pay for. The speaker connections on the back of the unit are not even banana plugs. Just cheap clip style that will only accept a small gauge cable. But, it works, Ok for my kids stereo

      Hi TLAConsumer,

      We regret to hear that the Bluetooth function of the receiver is not working. Make sure to follow these steps when pairing a Bluetooth device to the receiver:

      1. Place the Bluetooth device within 1 meter (3.3 feet) of the receiver.
      2. Press BLUETOOTH PAIRING on the remote. “PAIRING” flashes on the display panel. Perform step 3 within five minutes, otherwise pairing will be canceled. If pairing is canceled, repeat this step.
      3. Perform pairing on the Bluetooth device to detect the receiver. For details, refer to the operating instructions of your Bluetooth device.
      4. Select “STR-DH190” on the Bluetooth device display.
      5. Start playback on the Bluetooth device.
      6. Adjust the volume.

      If you are trying to listen to a paired Bluetooth device, please refer to these steps:

      1. Turn on the Bluetooth function of the Bluetooth device.
      2. Press BLUETOOTH on the remote. The receiver connects to the last connected Bluetooth device and the device name appears on the display panel.
      3. Start playback on the Bluetooth device.
      4. Adjust the volume.

      If still not resolved, reset the receiver to factory settings. Please refer to the steps below:

      1. Press (power) to turn off the receiver.
      2. Press and hold (power) for 5 seconds. “CLEARING” appears on the display panel during initialization. When initialization is complete, “CLEARED ” appears on the display panel.

      Note: It takes a few seconds for the memory to be cleared completely. Do not turn the receiver off until “CLEARED ” appears on the display panel.
