Was looking for a amp just to pass through from TV to 3-way floor speakers, mainly used for gaming and music. This is great, very simple, quick setup and Bluetooth is very hand for just playing music without running through TV. Powerful and meets my needs.

This receiver was exactly what I needed. I have a turntable and some nice speakers I had just repaired and was looking for that sweet vinyl sound. The Sony pairs well with my passive speakers and has enough extras to make it a great hub for many of my media needs. I’m impressed with its overall performance and especially the price.

This Sony receiver replaced a 25 year old Sony receiver and I can say nothing but positives about it. First receiver I have bought with BlueTooth, which works very well. Phone input as I still have a Denon turntable with SME arm and 500 jazz vinyl albums..several other inputs for CD player and CD changer. Very impressed with this $149 receiver!!

Good features and easy to install. Not sure about the FM antenna and plug in back of the unit. I wish there was a more common adapter and length of the antenna was longer. Worried about reception. Love the bluetooth feature for sound. I have trouble pairing too my bluetooth headphones. Not sure how

Hi DaleS, Thank you for the 5-star rating! Good to hear you like the ease of installation, Bluetooth feature, and overall features of the receiver. If you're having trouble pairing to your Bluetooth headphones. Please follow the steps below if you cannot make a Bluetooth
      connection with your headphones:

      • The BLUETOOTH device you attempted to
connect does not support the A2DP
profile, and cannot be connected with
      the receiver.
      • Press BLUETOOTH to connect to the last
      connected BLUETOOTH device.
      • Turn on the BLUETOOTH function of the
      BLUETOOTH device.
      • Establish a connection from the
      BLUETOOTH device.
      • The pairing registration information has
      been erased. Perform the pairing
      operation again.
      • While connected to a BLUETOOTH device,
      this receiver cannot be detected.
      • Erase the pairing registration information
of the BLUETOOTH device on the
      BLUETOOTH device and perform the
      pairing operation again.

You can't connect an external FM antenna to your A/V receiver, but you can improve the FM reception.

Adjust the position of the supplied FM wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the reception condition is good.
Place the antenna near a window.
Position the antenna as horizontally as possible.

Whether you choose to enjoy the warm sound of vinyl via the phono input, or stream music from your digital music collection, you’ve found a perfect match. Don’t forget the receiver’s A=B function lets you connect two pairs of speakers. You can easily switch between A or B or use them all together at the same time. I read a review which stated that the Bluetooth “might” work with a Samsung smart tv and another said it’s not guaranteed. I took the gamble and it works. I also plugged in my old iPod, tested my iPhone, both worked using Bluetooth. The sound is very nice. I gave 4 stars because there’s an FM station that I listen to from car and the receiver doesn’t get that station clearly. But I was able to find a substitute station for it.

This receiver is the most surprising purchase that I have made for my home entertainment system. I literally bought it sight unseen without reading any reviews so that I could play my record player through it to my speakers. With that said, it has exceeded all of my expectations and now directs traffic from my PC, blu-ray player, music streaming service, movie streaming services, and my record player. With all of these different functions it delivers amazing stereo sound quality. I know that it is rated as a 2.0 system, but with a couple subwoofers and some speaker wire splicing it now functions as a 2.1 or 2.2 system beautifully. It is rated to 100 watts and I would have to say that it delivers, all though I don't crank it up that high normally. When I have though I have not experienced any distortion. This is a great purchase and lets you experience amazing sound at an amazing budget price. I highly recommend it.

Great stereo receiver! It’s more than adequate to power my Yamaha outdoor speakers. It also has a photo input with ground which is awesome for my 80’s turntable! Doesn’t have subwoofer out, but input 4 has an output (for tape recordings). I used it with a Y cable to send a signal to a subwoofer when we want some extra oomph.

The sound is nice and I can't complain about the crisp output when listening to vinyl. To keep this short, I'll share the things that could be better. The antenna. It's short and doesn't pick up FM stations all that far away. If you want to replace it, good luck finding one to fit the port on the receiver. Next, the simple, low hum that is very apparent when nothing is playing but the unit is on. Doesn't matter if the turntable is off, it still hums. You can't notice it when the music is playing, and for that, it does a great job. Last, the tuning of stations. The auto-tune works well, but what if you want to manually tune something? Forget about it. It doesn't really allow manually tuning by frequency. If you get good with the auto feature, you can eventually get to a station that is less in signal strength by tuning one way (automatically) then stopping the search up by tuning in the other direction right at the exact time you are on the frequency you want. Yes, it's tricky, but it can be done. If you can get past these three things, you'll enjoy this receiver. Overall, for the money, this is a good buy.

Hi Greenwood110, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your STRDH190 receiver. We're glad to hear you like crisp sound, especially when listening to vinyl records. We're sorry to hear if you're having signal reception issues when listening to your FM stations.

Please follow these troubleshooting steps if the FM reception is poor.

      • Extend and adjust the position of the FM
wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the
      reception conditions are good.
      • Place the FM wire antenna (aerial) near a
      window.
      • Position the FM wire antenna (aerial) as
      horizontally as possible.

For low humming noise issue, please follow the troubleshooting steps on the link below:

      https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/audio-components-receivers-amplifiers/str-dh190/articles/00027601

For manual FM tuning, Press TUNING + or TUNING –.
TUNING + scans from lower to higher
frequency stations and TUNING – for
      scanning higher to lower.
      The receiver stops scanning whenever
      a station is received.
