Great Stereo Amplifier for the Money

The size and apparent quality of the power transformer and the power capacitors seemed to be at the top of the class for this price range. If all you need is a basic stereo amp without all the bells and whistles of fancier models, you will have to spend quite a bit more to get better quality than this. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to longevity as I returned the unit because I wound up having to buy a new TV as well, and I opted for a unit with ARC technology in it, but it seemed to be a well made item for the brief period that I owned it.

It works great with both. I like simple and don't need a lot of options. Definitely a wise purchase.

I HAVE A SET OF 3 WAY SMALLER SPEAKERS I WAS GOING TO BUY NEW FLOOR SPEAKERS BUT THIS AMP HAS THESE OLDER SPEAKERS SINGING A NEW TUNE BIG TIME!!! GREAT RECEIVER GREAT PRICE!!!

The power and sound is sufficient. I do have a complaint about it though. When the bluetooth is connected to your phone, it will let you turn the volume down, but you it won't let you turn it all the way up via phone. You can only turn it up about halfway. It's almost a deal breaker but for the price and no other similar options available this one works fine.

Great Addition to my Sound System

Love the built in Phono Preamp - cleanly boosts magnetic cartridge inputs to give you clean balanced record playing. Only have 2 complaints with the amp: 1. Has a proprietary FM antenna using single wire so it doesn't except amplified antenna inputs 2. Does not have PreAmp out and Amp in connectors to insert a multiband equalizer into the system But the pros out-weigh these to issues.

Sounds good and the remote works well. Has a phono jack which was a feature I needed for the few remaining LPs I saved. I enjoy listening to good music and this thing makes it happen.

Great simple receiver

I gave it 4 stars because it does not have AM. I live in the high desert valley surrounded by mountains so I don't get many stations, but my older Sony similar to my (STR-DH130) in the bedroom has AM and gets the stations I need, such as Coast to Coast with George Noory. I hope Sony is more reliable than the two Yamaha receivers of the same model (HTR-5830) both of which went bad on me. The Sony's are much simpler without all the bells and whistles. At 70 I need simplicity.

Highly Recommended Stereo Receiver

We decided to buy the same one for the basement. I've started collecting CDs since you can now find them for next to nothing at thrift stores. I found a 6-CD player and some great speakers secondhand, and this receiver was very easy to connect to the older equipment.

Has everything I need for a good price
