This isn't for the home theater setup, but rather for the classic system focused on delivering high quality audio to speakers for music. With Hi-Res certification, compatible speakers will playback with an expanded dynamic range. I'm very pleased. I've got a Hi-Res Sony player, turntable, minidisc, CD, cassette, and a host of CD jukeboxes connected to this. The audio quality is excellent, and cannot be beat for total value at this price point.

Great 2 channel option

I needed to hook up a pair of speakers as well as a turntable. I also needed bluetooth for streaming. This receiver is perfect for all of that. Plus it puts out plenty of power and sounds very good. Way better than expected.

Excellent flexible tuner / amplifier

Currently use it with Bluetooth, an old iPod (yes still working!) a CD player and the FM tuner for local stations. Pairs well with my original Sony speakers. Great flexibiliy most easily accesed through the complex remote, luckily paired with a clear instruction book (a real rarity these days.). Very satisfied.
