Easy delivery. Set up easy to do. Impressed with Bluetooth distance from my iPhone to play on receiver. Wanted the FM stations for spontaneity and easy quick to pick up Penn State network on fm. But do miss the old style wheel selection that I could zero in on Baltimore stations even if scratchy. Technology improvements ok in some respects but not others. Has nothing to do with overall performance - sometimes old gives more.

Simple, straightforward high quality receiver. It has a phone input which I know have my old turntable back in use! The power punch from its 100 watts per channel power my sony sub and 2 two way speakers fantastically.

This receiver was perfect for what I needed. I wanted to set up a little turntable system so the built-in phono pre-amp was very helpful. Also didnt want to get too carried away with speakers so the 2.0 was just enough. Speakers I bought to go with it were 6ohm Sony 3-way bookshelf speakers. Audio quality was decent for a while, but then eventually (after about a week) it started shutting off on its own. I moved it to a more ventilated area, re-checked all the connections including speakers, changed power strips, went direct to the wall, changed outlets and tried it on a circuit with nothing on it, unplugged everything... same result every time. Would shut off for an hour, turn back on, and die again 20 mins later. It was great while it worked, but I had to return it and did not get another one because I didn't want to have to potentially return it again. Some other thoughts... the pin connectors for the speaker wire in the back were difficult to work with. I wanted to use 14ga wire but could barely get it in there without it fraying all over the place. Even 16ga was a challange. The volume knob felt very... not high end. Very plasticy feeling and a lot of weird resistance turning it that felt like a clickly plastic mechanism behind the knob. Great price and features and audio quality, was absolutely perfect for what I needed but ended up exchanging it for a more expensive receiver with features I don't need and getting a separate phono pre-amp. This is a great option though provided it works.

Hi BenM, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with the STRDH190. We regret to hear that you ended up returning the unit. This is usually not the case for our receivers nor the experience we want you to have. But, we're still glad to hear that you liked the audio quality, built-in phono input, and it worked well with your Sony speakers. I hope you consider our Sony products in the future. Thank you for sharing your feedback. -Sam Sony_US

Great receiver for the money. It checked off all the boxes. I can play my old albums and cassettes and connect my phone and tablet by Bluetooth. Of course it's not some high end model with all the HDMI home theater stuff. I just needed an inexpensive really good sounding receiver. I paired it with some Klipsch Reference 5 1/4 340 watt speakers. I think they cost twice as much as the receiver.

The decision was between this Sony and the similar Yamaha. Using it to push content to outside speakers. Easy BT connection from outside, not sure the range but it does go through door(s)/concrete foundation to the table 20 feet away, Nice that it has the phono connection in case the current Insignia receiver in the study needs to be replaced.

I purchased this Sony 2 channel Receiver to replace a 15 year old Sony. It is a great value considering all of the features you get for little dough! I got this because I needed a simple 2 channel receiver that offered A/B speaker control to supply sound inside and out. The bluetooth has a super range to connect to the tablet also. Another great Sony product!
