Definitely not a rock the house receiver which my wife really appreciates. For what it is, I enjoy it

Love all my Sony gadgets!

However, this time I felt compelled to just say that Sony has never failed me with any of their products. I own many of their products and have never had issues with any of them. I will forever purchase Sony products as they are superior and reliable compared to other top brands out there. I am currently trying to save for a Sony - 83" Class A90J Series OLED 4K TV... May take a while as it is pretty expensive but know it will be very worth the money. Oh yeah, I bought this receiver for a turntable setup and did exactly what I needed without the use of. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this.

Wasn't a good fit for me

I can't say it's Sony's problem as my old Yamaha receiver died and I bought the Sony to replace it. It sounded very dull with my old Dalquist speakers so I exchanged the Sony for a Yamaha of sim specs that sounded better. Maybe with new speakers the Sony would be a winner. I did like the design, that it had a dedicated phono input and the overall quality of it.

The sound quality of this receiver usually depend on the source that you're playing and speakers that you are using. Adjusting various settings related to the sound settings from your source device and in this home receiver could have helped resolve the issue. New technology for an old guy

I earned my amateur radio license at 16, but was building my own stereo systems even earlier. This Sony receiver/amplifier met my high standard. I had it unpacked and up and running in two and half hours. When I turned it on, the sound blew me away! I highly recommend this to any one who wants a modern sound system, that they can still used older gear, like a turntable, tape deck, and a CD player. I am very happy it with and it wasn't made in China!
