Great Value w/ Phono Inputs
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace a 30 year-old Sony receiver in a modest system with my Dual turntable. This unit unit provides a wide choice of inputs, including phono, and adequate power for my needs at a decent price.

Very good buy for stereo music listenting!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My major problem with this receiver is that it won't use 4 ohm speakers (long story but the tech replaced my 8 ohm with 4 ohm without asking first). Aside from that, the receiver has been great! At first not so much, but it has gotten better and better. Not sure if the phono input is as good as an external preamp but it can do the job. Bluetooth is good. Not pleased with the proprietary FM antenna (actually, a small wire) as it has limited the reception. Still, for the price it is a very good buy, especially for someone like myself who wants only a 2 channel receiver for strictly music listenting. At least a B+, possibly an A- Only the speaker impedeance limit keeps it from an A+

Highly recommend this Sony STR-DH190 receiver
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver replaced a Pioneer that had many bells and whistles. This unit does the same in a somewhat smaller frame and most importantly has the separate inputs for phono. It has input for two sets of speakers, A, B, A/B, or OFF that we find convenient. And the BT connection is a definite plus that the older Pioneer did not have. While not a refined audiophile, this unit works and sounds great with a very user-friendly remote. We have the phono, CD, and tape deck hooked up with room for two additional connections. Two-year warranty is certainly more than most electronics offer. I did take the FM antenna with the tiny, phone plug type connector and spliced the opposite end to a coax cable for improved FM reception. I very highly recommend this receiver, and it's at a very fair price point.

simple amp great sound and features
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my receiver because my old one (a Sony str 6046A) was a holdover from college forty years ago. The Bluetooth feature is handy. Take the time to learn how to navigate the menu. I needed a receiver with phono inputs to keep up with my new Grado Gold II MM cartridge. Nice easy connections. Very happy with it.

Adequate for my very limited use case
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 35 year old amp finally died. I have a wonderful pair of Polk Audio speakers that I want to stream music to using an Amazon Echo Dot. I needed a replacement amp with enough power to drive them. This receiver is doing that just fine. At some point, I may use the bluetooth to stream from other devices. I'm disappointed that there is no way to adjust balance between speakers. The receiver has FM (no AM), phono inputs (which I may use if I ever get around to digitizing my album collection), and pairs of RCA plugs that look like they would work for connecting and recording to a tape deck. I would recommend this to a friend who had the same use case, but would suggest they spend a little more if they want to use it as the heart of a home audio setup.

Can't beat it for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just a stereo receiver, but a very nice one. It's not intended for home theater use, but that wasn't what I needed. It drives my old Advent speakers nicely, and even has bluetooth, so you can listen to it through a bluetooth device like an Alexa. It even has surprisingly good FM radio reception with just the single wire FM antenna that comes with it. I live on the fringe of the Pittsburgh PA FM coverage area, and have never had good FM reception on other receivers or radios, but this one even picks up WQED-FM classial music station with just the supplied FM antenna hanging on a nearby shelf. I was impressed.

Great basic 2 channel receiver with good power.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this receiver for almost 6 months and haven't experienced any issues. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. Set up was easy. The Sony receiver is a great choice if you're looking for a basic 2 channel receiver with decent power, rated at 100 watts RMS. The FM tuner is clean and clear. The phono input allows me to play LPs from my collection. Add a tape deck and CD player to other inputs along with Bluetooth and analog input from the TV and it checks off all the boxes for me. An HDMI/digital input/output would be a nice feature I'd be willing to pay a little more for but I was able to work with that limitation without a lot of difficulty.

Sony budget Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a receiver with a dedicated phono input, this is one well worth looking at. It has input for various other audio types. I tried the Bluetooth with an older iPod and it worked great. If looking for a budget receiver I highly recommend this one. (Not paid for this review).
