Just a stereo receiver, but a very nice one. It's not intended for home theater use, but that wasn't what I needed. It drives my old Advent speakers nicely, and even has bluetooth, so you can listen to it through a bluetooth device like an Alexa. It even has surprisingly good FM radio reception with just the single wire FM antenna that comes with it. I live on the fringe of the Pittsburgh PA FM coverage area, and have never had good FM reception on other receivers or radios, but this one even picks up WQED-FM classial music station with just the supplied FM antenna hanging on a nearby shelf. I was impressed.

This Sony receiver is a gem. No problems whatsoever with setup and pairs well with the Sony SSCS5 bookshelf speakers in the same family. I currently have it hooked up to a vintage turntable for phono, and after connecting the grounding wire from the turntable, the playback is stellar. The Bluetooth connection is strong and pairs quickly with my phone as well, when I'm streaming. Great price for this kind of receiver.

This receiver replaced a Pioneer that had many bells and whistles. This unit does the same in a somewhat smaller frame and most importantly has the separate inputs for phono. It has input for two sets of speakers, A, B, A/B, or OFF that we find convenient. And the BT connection is a definite plus that the older Pioneer did not have. While not a refined audiophile, this unit works and sounds great with a very user-friendly remote. We have the phono, CD, and tape deck hooked up with room for two additional connections. Two-year warranty is certainly more than most electronics offer. I did take the FM antenna with the tiny, phone plug type connector and spliced the opposite end to a coax cable for improved FM reception. I very highly recommend this receiver, and it's at a very fair price point.

I needed to replace my receiver because my old one (a Sony str 6046A) was a holdover from college forty years ago. The Bluetooth feature is handy. Take the time to learn how to navigate the menu. I needed a receiver with phono inputs to keep up with my new Grado Gold II MM cartridge. Nice easy connections. Very happy with it.

I've had this receiver for almost 6 months and haven't experienced any issues. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. Set up was easy. The Sony receiver is a great choice if you're looking for a basic 2 channel receiver with decent power, rated at 100 watts RMS. The FM tuner is clean and clear. The phono input allows me to play LPs from my collection. Add a tape deck and CD player to other inputs along with Bluetooth and analog input from the TV and it checks off all the boxes for me. An HDMI/digital input/output would be a nice feature I'd be willing to pay a little more for but I was able to work with that limitation without a lot of difficulty.

My 35 year old amp finally died. I have a wonderful pair of Polk Audio speakers that I want to stream music to using an Amazon Echo Dot. I needed a replacement amp with enough power to drive them. This receiver is doing that just fine. At some point, I may use the bluetooth to stream from other devices. I'm disappointed that there is no way to adjust balance between speakers. The receiver has FM (no AM), phono inputs (which I may use if I ever get around to digitizing my album collection), and pairs of RCA plugs that look like they would work for connecting and recording to a tape deck. I would recommend this to a friend who had the same use case, but would suggest they spend a little more if they want to use it as the heart of a home audio setup.

This likely the best possible receiver you can buy for up to 3-4 times the price. It does everything perfectly, including bluetooth. It has a strong phono preamp. Specs are good. Performance is great. Clean, clear, and crisp without coloration. Everything is spot-on. I use calibrated DBX speakers and have more than 20 years experience in professional audio engineering and production. It's not McIntosh performance or really even close, but it's also not McIntosh price. It is really, really good for the money and all most of us could want for everyday home use.

This receiver gives a lot of bang for the buck, it more than adequately powers two sets of Polk speakers in my living room and, best of all, it has a phono input so I can listen to my albums. Many new receivers do not provide this feature. I highly recommend this Sony receiver. My only dislike regarding the receiver is where the speaker wires connect, they must be pushed in and held while attempting to insert the wires into the small holes, it is not easy.

Had 50 yo 20th century KLH system which has been on its last legs for 10 years!! The Sony Receiver has good FM reception and I was able to connect my old Dual turntable to the phono inputs with no need for a preamp. I like the 21st centry addition of Bluetooth which is easy to connect, and when your Bluetooth audio device is on it connects instantly and turns the stereo on automatically. It is only 2 channel so it is not for those who wish full specturm audio, but I can listen in the kitchen with my celling speakers and/or in the dinning room with my KLH speakers which still do work after 50 years.

I bought this to power my AT120X turntable. It's about as simple as it gets for a stereo receiver but for its purpose there's no need to over-complicate it. The remote is really handy for making basic EQ changes on-the-fly while listening. I actually prefer the phono preamp on the receiver vs. the one on the more expensive turntable. Only thing I wish it had was a sub out but at this price point I can't complain.

I had a Kenwood receiver from the 1970s and a pair of Rectilinear Mini 3 speakers that I lost in a house fire last year. This was the closest I could find in performance to that at a reasoable price. It accepts Bluetooth input and has a remote. I mated it to a pair of Sony bookshelf speakers. The speakers are a bit smaller but they sound great. I can hear the bass just fine and I didn't need to feel the base so no sub woofer. I just wanted an old school stereo. I ran my TV RCA output to the stereo so I can have enhanced sound when I want. If you want fancy surround then get a home theater receiver but I got this out of box for $120 and it had only been removed from the box and then put back in. Everything works and not a scratch was on it. The FM antenna is a bit funky but it works and I don't need space in the back for a bulky ferrite antenna. You can get more features with the China brands but this looks great with my TV and it looks, feels and performs quality. There is phono input and a couple of auxillary inputs. It runs two sets of speakers switchable A, B, or A and B. It has a line out so you could run a powered sub woofer I guess but not sure how the L R channels would merge to do that. I would have liked a mid range tone control but the bass and treble adjusted for my ears.

Needed something that would run my turntable. I'm an old guy with vinyl and a turntable I bought in 1979. It's a direct drive (not belted) ultra quiet, counterbalanced beauty that needs a decent amp to run it. Being an old guy with no sense, I discarded my Marantz system (also bought in 1980) and discovered I had no way to play my vinyl. I don't even let my wife touch the records, so there was no way I', buying a cheapo "record player." This seemed like a suitable alternative. It does not disappoint. Now if only I hadn't tossed the Marantz speakers....
