Upgraded my record player set-up with this!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted to upgrade my record player with more premium sound, so I purchased this receiver and other Sony speakers. Very easy to use and set up with multiple outputs/inputs. I love turning the dials, they have a semi-analog feel to them. The Bluetooth capability is also very neat, I use it to play music from iPhone as well.

cheap fix for turntable problem
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what it is, it is excellent. My hitech Yamaha had no way to connect a turntable, so I had to go lowtech. This is plain stereo (perfect for turntable), has input for turntable and enough power to make most of us happy. And it is inexpensive, as the next price point was $400 more for turntable connectivity. Great stuff!

Great Budget Receiver!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Audio Receiver to ever purchase. I have trusted Sony to handle other electronic and technology needs of mine and they have never failed so I decided to go with a receiver and speaker setup through them! This receiver was easy to setup and get my music and movies going through! I like the Pure Audio function which overrides the EQ changes you set in place instead of needing to adjust your Bass and Treble settings. The Bluetooth has connected and worked every time without fail and the headphone jack powers all of the headphones I have plugged into it. I would highly recommend this!

New Sony Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new Sony receiver (STR-DH190) replaces a Pioneer receiver that wasn't that old. It was horrible not wanting to put out any volume. Sometimes it wouldn't work and the 20 minutes later it would. Threw it in the trash. The Sony hasn't missed yet. The separate treble and bass controls are a nice addition. This is for my garage and drives 4 speakers and a Sony subwoofer quite well. Works great for what I need. No frills basic receiver.

Excellent 2 channel receiver
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver puts out good clear sound and lives up to its reported specs. The FM reception is actually very good with the supplied antenna (wire). In comparing to my Pioneer SX-253R The Sony does not have an extra low end emphasis (bummer) but still reproduces sound well. The bass adjustment is centered around the 100Hz frequency which can make it difficult to hear / feel the lower bass hit if adjusted to much. The Bluetooth connectivity is awesome but be aware that your Bluetooth media device might control the Sony receiver volume. That was not listed in the manual. Would buy again.

Great sounding receiver with useful connectivity
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Sony stereo receiver finally failed after 25 years. I bought this as a cheap replacement. I should have replaced it years ago. The sound is better throught the same speakers and the new features make it a valuable addition. I still use FM radio a lot, so it's nice to see it included in this age of digital audio. I haven't tried the Bluetooth yet but I do have a large collection MP3's I will have to try. Also, I may just dust off the phonograph to listen to the vinyl records that I still own.

Very good receiver
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My older Sony receiver/amp bit the dust after thirty plus years of use. Since I also aged during that same time, I decided I didn't need anything super fancy or powerful and decided on this unit. Well, it sounds better than my deceased Sony unit ever did, and it has Bluetooth. I also purchased an attachment for playing music from a usb drive. I was also able to connect my older Sony cd player with no problem at all. Very pleased with this purchase.

Phono/ground for Turntable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking for a replacement receiver that had a Phono option for turntables with a ground. This was it! Only 2 channels, but that's what stereo means! Bluetooth is definitely a bonus for when I just want to connect a phone/device. Also, only $150! Great deal for a great piece of equipment from an extremely reputable brand in Sony. You'll never find anything this quality for this price anywhere else.

The best audio receiver for the buck
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm 55 so have had many an audio receiver over the years. Since most of the music I listen to is from my PC or iPad, I've been considering an audio receiver with bluetooth and this one far exceeds my expectation. The bluetooth pairs up flawlessly and I love the ability to adjust bass and treble from the remote. I originally bought this on sale for our enclosed patio for $99 and loved it so much I bought another for my computer room. May even end up ditching our old Kenwood receiver in our livingroom for another one of these. The Sony STRDH190 simply can't be beat for price, ease of use, and audio quality. FM receiption isn't the best but not a dealbreaker for me since I don't isten to radio anymore.

A banging bargain
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy bluetooth pairing, crystal clear and punchy sound, loud enough for an indoor karaoke party with just two bookshelf speakers and a passive sub. I guarantee you will not find a new amp that's better than this for the price. Be careful with handling as these are known to break if bumped or dropped. The bass is a bit on the boomy and fatiguing side for extended listening if you don't use a powered subwoofer. There is a small bit of background hiss but you wont notice it unless you have it paused.

Great basic receiver!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this receiver to use with an outdoor sound system. I wanted something simple and not break the bank . Hooked up Klipsch outdoor speakers , covered it in plexiglass to give it some protection from the elements here in the summer months , it’s also under a overhang , so not directly exposed to sun and rain. Bluetooth is seem less. Works perfectly with Alexa dot and my phone, preset radio stations, etc and puts out excellent sound to my outdoor speakers! This was a good purchase and perfect for my needs for a kickass stereo system in my backyard oasis!

Great receiver for the value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this receiver to primarily power my two Polk outdoor speakers. It has the ability to use speakers on either an A or B channel. It provides great power for the speakers I paired it with. The Bluetooth capability is pretty good too. I have it inside the house, next to a window, and Our Bluetooth devices can reach the receiver pretty well for a good 50-60 ft. The manual speaks to a 98 ft reach, but that would be direct line of sight with no walls or windows. Overall, great receiver for the price.
