More than adequate for whold house sound system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Intuitive and easy to set up. Bluetooth makes it compatible with a number of devices. Powers four sets of speakers (8) with base and treble adjustments. A lot for the $!

The best audio receiver for the buck
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm 55 so have had many an audio receiver over the years. Since most of the music I listen to is from my PC or iPad, I've been considering an audio receiver with bluetooth and this one far exceeds my expectation. The bluetooth pairs up flawlessly and I love the ability to adjust bass and treble from the remote. I originally bought this on sale for our enclosed patio for $99 and loved it so much I bought another for my computer room. May even end up ditching our old Kenwood receiver in our livingroom for another one of these. The Sony STRDH190 simply can't be beat for price, ease of use, and audio quality. FM receiption isn't the best but not a dealbreaker for me since I don't isten to radio anymore.

Great Budget Receiver
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I’d hoped to get from this purchase is what I got - a $150 (sale price) receiver that enables my small Polk speakers to fill my living room with clear, clean music from my phone’s Bluetooth connection, my CD player, and my turntable. It has additional RCA connections if I can ever find room for the tape deck. The FM receiver works well for local stations, even with the included 10 cent wire “antenna.” It doesn’t have AM capability, but the Orioles games are simulcast on an FM sister station, so no worries there :) Just perfect for my needs! Note on my sub-ratings - only had it for a week, so I wanted to reserve judgement on Quality, and haven’t tried programming FM presets yet, so I wanted to wait to rate Ease of Use. But, Best Buy’s system forced me to pick a rating for those categories if I wanted to rate the receiver on Value. Best Buy might want to revise that protocol.

Great basic receiver!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this receiver to use with an outdoor sound system. I wanted something simple and not break the bank . Hooked up Klipsch outdoor speakers , covered it in plexiglass to give it some protection from the elements here in the summer months , it’s also under a overhang , so not directly exposed to sun and rain. Bluetooth is seem less. Works perfectly with Alexa dot and my phone, preset radio stations, etc and puts out excellent sound to my outdoor speakers! This was a good purchase and perfect for my needs for a kickass stereo system in my backyard oasis!

Good Sony Amplifier, phono inputs, good value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice unit, at a good price. The stereo sound is real good and clear, the amplifier inputs work well. However, I would like the name of a good pre-amp that works well with this one and has RCA outputs to go in to the Sony Amplifier. I like how you can label the different inputs for whatever they are. The remote is a real plus and makes the operation so much more fluid and simple. Maybe someday I will use the Bluetooth app that's built in, but I don't like wireless, so that's unlikely.

Posted .Hi SONYAMP, Thank you for this amazing and detailed review of your STRDH190. We're glad you like the overall sound quality, user-friendly remote control functions, and the ability to label the different inputs. An equalizer needs to be connected to the tape monitor loop on an AV receiver in order to operate. The current line of Sony® receivers does not have a tape monitor loop. For this reason, it is not possible to connect an add-on equalizer/preamp to current Sony AV receivers. Hope this helps. -Sam

Great buy!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've really found this device useful and of good quality. I'm sure it's not even close to audiophile worthy, but it really made my turntable sound better than the dinky preamp I had. I like that it also has easy to use bluetooth and radio capabilities.

Better than you might expect.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was to replace my Teac AG 360 which after 25 years started to generate a humming sound. The Sony has the same dimensions so it fits perfectly on the shelf. It sounds great on all modes. I haven't tried the phono mode however. I think they should advertise as a 90 watts per channel with 0.09 % THD instead of 100 Watts per channel with 1 % THD. People who have been around stereo receivers would probably be more inclined to try this one if the did. 1 % is way over what most manufacturers state in their specs. I never need more than about 10 watts myself.

Great receiver for the value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this receiver to primarily power my two Polk outdoor speakers. It has the ability to use speakers on either an A or B channel. It provides great power for the speakers I paired it with. The Bluetooth capability is pretty good too. I have it inside the house, next to a window, and Our Bluetooth devices can reach the receiver pretty well for a good 50-60 ft. The manual speaks to a 98 ft reach, but that would be direct line of sight with no walls or windows. Overall, great receiver for the price.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When my vintage receiver failed I was discouraged at the length of time for repair. I decided to purchase a new unit. After considerable research I continued to see the Sony 2 channel on reviewers best pick list. I have very pleased with my purchase, the sound is great and the ease of hookup makes it any easy setup. It sound better than much more expensive receivers and looks classy as well. Great Sony piece.

||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this for a few months. It's in a medium to large sized interior room in my home. Sound quality is good. I love that this is bluetooth capable and comes with a remote. For the price point, I think I got everything I was looking for and then some. I'm very pleased with my decision to buy this. Also considered the equivalent Yamaha brand, similar features. I feel good about going with the Sony.

No-Nonsense Powerhouse
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this receiver to replace a mid 90's unit. The difference is amazing! Bluetooth is a game changer, and having an aux cord port standard is nice too. The speakers I'm using connected flawlessly and are powered more than sufficiently! Also, the phono provisions are more than adequate, the ground works well, and my player has no him whatsoever. This receiver makes my music sound better in every way I can possibly play music through it. Would buy again.
