Very nice unit, at a good price. The stereo sound is real good and clear, the amplifier inputs work well. However, I would like the name of a good pre-amp that works well with this one and has RCA outputs to go in to the Sony Amplifier. I like how you can label the different inputs for whatever they are. The remote is a real plus and makes the operation so much more fluid and simple. Maybe someday I will use the Bluetooth app that's built in, but I don't like wireless, so that's unlikely.

Hi SONYAMP, Thank you for this amazing and detailed review of your STRDH190. We're glad you like the overall sound quality, user-friendly remote control functions, and the ability to label the different inputs. An equalizer needs to be connected to the tape monitor loop on an AV receiver in order to operate. The current line of Sony® receivers does not have a tape monitor loop. For this reason, it is not possible to connect an add-on equalizer/preamp to current Sony AV receivers. Hope this helps. -Sam Sony_US

I bought this receiver to primarily power my two Polk outdoor speakers. It has the ability to use speakers on either an A or B channel. It provides great power for the speakers I paired it with. The Bluetooth capability is pretty good too. I have it inside the house, next to a window, and Our Bluetooth devices can reach the receiver pretty well for a good 50-60 ft. The manual speaks to a 98 ft reach, but that would be direct line of sight with no walls or windows. Overall, great receiver for the price.

I purchased this receiver to replace a mid 90's unit. The difference is amazing! Bluetooth is a game changer, and having an aux cord port standard is nice too. The speakers I'm using connected flawlessly and are powered more than sufficiently! Also, the phono provisions are more than adequate, the ground works well, and my player has no him whatsoever. This receiver makes my music sound better in every way I can possibly play music through it. Would buy again.

When my vintage receiver failed I was discouraged at the length of time for repair. I decided to purchase a new unit. After considerable research I continued to see the Sony 2 channel on reviewers best pick list. I have very pleased with my purchase, the sound is great and the ease of hookup makes it any easy setup. It sound better than much more expensive receivers and looks classy as well. Great Sony piece.

Have had this for a few months. It's in a medium to large sized interior room in my home. Sound quality is good. I love that this is bluetooth capable and comes with a remote. For the price point, I think I got everything I was looking for and then some. I'm very pleased with my decision to buy this. Also considered the equivalent Yamaha brand, similar features. I feel good about going with the Sony.

What I’d hoped to get from this purchase is what I got - a $150 (sale price) receiver that enables my small Polk speakers to fill my living room with clear, clean music from my phone’s Bluetooth connection, my CD player, and my turntable. It has additional RCA connections if I can ever find room for the tape deck. The FM receiver works well for local stations, even with the included 10 cent wire “antenna.” It doesn’t have AM capability, but the Orioles games are simulcast on an FM sister station, so no worries there :) Just perfect for my needs! Note on my sub-ratings - only had it for a week, so I wanted to reserve judgement on Quality, and haven’t tried programming FM presets yet, so I wanted to wait to rate Ease of Use. But, Best Buy’s system forced me to pick a rating for those categories if I wanted to rate the receiver on Value. Best Buy might want to revise that protocol.

So my 1976 Morse receiver finally gave up the left channel. I still wanted to listen to the old vinyl so I needed a new receiver WITH a phono input. This was the least cost with Bluetooth and mini-in jack I could find. And it is a SONY. The remote makes pairing with a phone the easiest I have ever used. Even the tech-challenged can do the pairing. I connected to an older Infinity speaker set that runs the right & left thru the woofer so the 2.0 works fine for me. For a guy that just needs the basics (no fancy AV connections) this is the receiver to buy,

Got this to power my outdoor back porch speakers and couldn't be happier. My previous fancy Onkyo was Wi-Fi and then was not updated so could no longer be controlled from the app on my phone or tablet then the preamp went out. Was looking for a simple not expensive replacement and nailed it with the Sony. Bluetooth connected immediately for my Pandora/Tunein/Amazon streaming. Sound is great. What more did I need? If you just need a simple 2 channel stereo receiver this could fit the bill.

I'm an old 70's era "stereoholic" and I needed something for music in my garage / workshop. Paired with a pair of Polk XT 15's it works really well for it's intended purpose. 99% of what I listen to with this system is bluetooth from my phone, and with that it pairs seamlessly. I have little more invested in this system than a good bluetooth speaker and the sound is many, many times better. Rock on !

Since most audio equipment and television is now capable of Bluetooth transmission/reception, this receiver is pretty much all one needs for Blue-Ray/DVD/CD players, cable television boxes, and turntables. The radio reception is fairly good, but an adapter, allowing the use of a coax cable antenna would be a nice addition. Perfect for bedrooms, and studys, and more than adequate for most family rooms or livingrooms.

I use this with a sonos port to power my outdoor and garage speakers and it works perfectly for my setup with the A, B and A+B speaker output options. The bluetooth works well. I don't use the radio so I can't comment ton that, but I'm sure it's fine. The receiver is a really nice size, so it's easy to find a place to keep it and the price was good. I would recommend this for a similur use to power smaller speakers etc.
