I've really found this device useful and of good quality. I'm sure it's not even close to audiophile worthy, but it really made my turntable sound better than the dinky preamp I had. I like that it also has easy to use bluetooth and radio capabilities.

      Hi Nick,

That's great! We're happy to hear that you like the quality and smart features of the AV receiver. Whether you choose to enjoy the warm sound of vinyl via the phono input, or stream music from your digital music collection, you’ve found a perfect match. Don’t forget the receiver’s A=B function lets you connect two pairs of speakers. You can easily switch between A or B or use them all together at the same time. When you factor in the low-profile design, we’re sure you’ve found the flexibility and performance you’ve been looking for! Thank you for choosing Sony!

Great upgrade from my 1977 Sony receiver

The most difficult thing about swapping in my new STRDH190-2 Stereo Receiver to my stereo cabinet was accessing the various cables and wires behind it to disconnect my 1977-vintage Sony AM/FM Stereo Receiver and reconnect things to the new receiver. Connecting other components – a 1977-vintage Sony turntable and a more recent Sony CD player/recorder – was simple, and I was up and running, playing vinyl and recording to CD, in no time. Syncing Bluetooth devices (iPod, iPhone) was similarly painless; the built-in Bluetooth capability eliminates the need for a separate Bluetooth device. I am still working my way up the learning curve on the FM radio presets, but that is a low priority since there are only a couple of decent FM stations in my area (one of which is a college station with a very weak signal.) I am enjoying having a more modern home stereo setup, and look forward to many (though maybe not 46…) years of enjoyment.

This is a simple 2-channel tuner/receiver but it sounds great and is a good value for the money. Programming stations into memory is easy, and the remote has three buttons for station presets which I find useful. I am not using the Bluetooth feature on this device so I can't say how well that works.

I bought this receiver to go with my surround sound system. I was blown away with the quality of sound the Sony delivers. This receiver is a steal for the price range. I am thrilled with my purchase, I am actually going to buy a second one for my phono. If you need great sound without taking out a loan on your home this is your receiver. I would highly recommend this receiver to my friends and family

Great product for a great price. Yes, there are higher end choices out there, but this fit my needs perfectly. I needed it for a medium sized room to hook up my turntable and CD player. Added some small speakers and it produces! I don’t need the blue tooth capability, so I can’t speak to that. But seems simple enough if I ever do. Lots of inputs if I ever need them. The remote is a plus too.

All in all, it is a very nice receiver for $200. Including built in FM radio, it has inputs for phono, bluetooth, 4 inputs (cd, tape, etc). Power is rated at 100 watts which is very sufficient for my small Klipsch speakers, which sounds very good. A minor drawback is there is no AM radio, but it was no deal breaker here. Overall, I am very pleased with it

When I looked at price point, functionality, and specs - wow this is a nice receiver. If you need a receiver with Phono in - here you go, this is the one to buy. There are some other brands that are better, but they are a lot farther up the price scale. For a simple turntable and speaker system, this works so nice. It is clean and classic looking. Those other receivers might sound a little bit better - but this one gets the job done.

This is a great receiver that we use for music and karaoke. One of the best features is having Bluetooth technology, which is great for people having the newer iPhone's (as they don't have a headphone jack any longer). I have also hooked up my old record player which sounds amazing coming through this. Naturally this will depend on your speaker setup as well, but worth the money!

    Replacement for existing component system

This Sony receiver was a replacement for a 53 year old Sansui 400 with similar specifications, so it would need to fit in with the other components in the existing system. Pro: 1. The instructions gave all of the information needed to set it up (and work properly with the other components). 2. It has sufficient inputs for all of the devices I am using. 3. The remote control was sufficiently functional to be very useful. 4. The sound quality is good. Con: 1. Although the FM works fairly well in a weak signal area with the supplied single wire antenna, it would have been helpful to have also had a 300 ohm and/or 75 ohm external antenna connection. 2. No AM tuner, although this is a minor issue. There are several other Sony components in my system. They have worked well, so I had confidence in purchasing this one too. It is a good "drop in" replacement.

Hi Audiophile, thank you for the detailed and amazing review of your new Sony STRDH190! Good to know you like that all the necessary information is included, multiple audio inputs, intuitive remote, great sound, and overall features of the unit.
We appreciate your feedback about the FM radio. You can't connect an external FM antenna to your A/V receiver, but you can improve the FM reception.

Adjust the position of the supplied FM wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the reception condition is good.
Place the antenna near a window.
Position the antenna as horizontally as possible.

      Hope this helps!

This unit was priced on sale for $150. It's easy to hookup and has a powerful amplifier. It has a built in am/m tuner and comes with its own antenna. It has phono input to hook up our own record player, which is hard to find these days. Sounds real good with no distortion on our 12" 3-way speakers. Very Happy with the purchase!

This receiver is very sleek and will blend in extremely will with any modern home. I loved the looks and the Bluetooth connectivity was also excellent. I never lost connection. I also appreciated the phono input. Super easy to use. The sound is just okay. It does have clear sound but the lows are non existent and there is no sub out connection. Technically you can find a sub that would be compatible but overall this is a low end receiver that will be well served by someone that appreciates its design over its sound. The sound isn’t bad, but for an extra $100 you would still be in budget receiver category and could get better sound. I ended up returning this and replacing it with an older Denon that absolutely blows it out do the park. For the price, you can’t expect much more. If you want above average sound, you will have to set your sights elsewhere.

This was to replace my Teac AG 360 which after 25 years started to generate a humming sound. The Sony has the same dimensions so it fits perfectly on the shelf. It sounds great on all modes. I haven't tried the phono mode however. I think they should advertise as a 90 watts per channel with 0.09 % THD instead of 100 Watts per channel with 1 % THD. People who have been around stereo receivers would probably be more inclined to try this one if the did. 1 % is way over what most manufacturers state in their specs. I never need more than about 10 watts myself.

Purchased to replace an old Technics stereo amplifier. Way more versatility and updates the technology of my component set. Great reception on the tuner, but it only receives FM. Handles my four speakers well and has adequate power for my listening use. In addition to supporting my tape deck, turn table, and cd player, it has blue tooth capability that allow me to play music apps from my phone on my speakers.
