Coming from a 7 speaker multi channel advanced receiver which was not easy to troubleshoot issues I enjoyed setting up this Sony receiver. My needs are a lot simpler now and this receiver was up and running in 30 minutes. Sound is crisp and clear. I’m also excited I can play my Vinyl again too

To keep this short, I'll share the things that could be better. The antenna. It's short and doesn't pick up FM stations all that far away. If you want to replace it, good luck finding one to fit the port on the receiver. Next, the simple, low hum that is very apparent when nothing is playing but the unit is on. Doesn't matter if the turntable is off, it still hums. You can't notice it when the music is playing, and for that, it does a great job. Last, the tuning of stations. The auto-tune works well, but what if you want to manually tune something? Forget about it. It doesn't really allow manually tuning by frequency. If you get good with the auto feature, you can eventually get to a station that is less in signal strength by tuning one way (automatically) then stopping the search up by tuning in the other direction right at the exact time you are on the frequency you want. Yes, it's tricky, but it can be done. If you can get past these three things, you'll enjoy this receiver. Overall, for the money, this is a good buy.

Please follow these troubleshooting steps if the FM reception is poor.
• Extend and adjust the position of the FM
wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the
reception conditions are good.
• Place the FM wire antenna (aerial) near a
window.
• Position the FM wire antenna (aerial) as
horizontally as possible.

It is working well and produces good, clean sound when played in the Pure Direct mode that bypasses all tone controls. In fact, it has exceeded my expectations for the price. Easy to use and no complaints. Cannot comment on the bluetooth or channel tuning, since I do not use them.

Great sound for my turntable and iPhone

I think this one cost less than the Sony receiver I bought 20 years ago. Great sound and it has Bluetooth capability for connecting with my iPhone or iPad. My only regret is it doesn’t have a Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphones.

It powers a pair of speakers in the bedroom plus another pair in the primary bath as well. The audio in jack on the front is used to input the audio signal from the TV. I do wish there was an audio in connection on the rear panel so the cord was hanging out in front, but that's a small point. The Bluetooth connectivity is a very nice feature allowing me to stream my music services from my phone. And I thought the price was very reasonable to boot!

Sony Receiver Is Like Heaven To My Ears

Some reviewer reported problems inserting speaker wires. But I was able to use our old Cyrus speakers without any trouble. Other reviewers note that it doesn't have an AM channel. It goes with our AudioTechnica LP 120s. (fancy record player). It kicks butts. I listen to a sleepy playlist every night via bluetooth (for the last two years). Also I play classic vinyls at HIGH volumes while folding laundry. It does both VERY WELL.
