Does NOT have an "AM" Radio Receiver

Easy to set up and very easy to set the Preset stations. We seldom listen to AM radio stations, although it just would not seem right to not have the ability to listen to AM if we wanted to. Especially in bad weather conditions when we want to listen to local radio stations. What a shame. Otherwise it seems to be a good unit. Only reason I would not recommend this to a friend is because of the lack of the AM stations. We did not realize that it did not have AM and now only see that it is noted that way in the small print.

Great Value, Great Sound

I am impressed with the power and clarity. I have a much more powerful/expensive amp, but it makes my speakers sound bad, but the Sony amp does a great job with my KEF LS50's.

Music great in stereo, turntable connected through pre-amp and bluetooth works well and pairs quickly and easily allowing to switch between devices and TV. No input to take digital signal from TV but haven't had any issues with lag using Bluetooth.

I have been unable to install the unit yet. The story is as follows. The electrical power in my house is messed up, with lights flickering, dimming, surging power to fans, etc. Due to this problem, I lost an excellent Onkyo receiver, even behind a surge strip (which also burned up), hence this purchase. However, the electrician I first hired is stumped, and I am still trying to get another one out here. I won't hook up the new unit until I get an all-clear on clean power. My quantitative evaluations should be read with this info in mind.

Perfect for record player

The other features are very basic, no knob to set you’re fm channel no am thin wire for antenna , you change station by a tracking plus long switch, you should be able to set station but mine did not come with English instructions and there is pre set station but all static , But I bought it for my records and that works wonderfully

I bought it only to drive a turntable and a pair of Sony SS-CS5 bookshelf speakers. A very good speaker/receiver combo that doesn't break the bank. Not trying to be an audiophile hipster. Just wanted a high quality sound for the money. Sony nailed it. Only complaint I would have is what others have said. The volume knob is not good. Unlike every other Sony receiver I have owned, this knob is all resistance. No feeling of smoothness in rotation. But it has a remote, so I don't have to be reminded of it too much. Minor complaint for an overall great setup. Works well with the Audio Technica AT-LP3.

I just listen to music CDs and receiver pairs nicely with my Elac speakers. My ear is not too sophisticated, but the sound quality seems fine to me. As noted by other reviewers, putting the speaker wire into the ports took a little extra effort. In a perfect world, I wish the receiver had a USB port to plug-in my MP3 player. Finally, the remote has functions that are not intuitive without the remote. For example, changing the amps for my speakers required the remote. The instruction manual does not provide an alternative if your remote breaks or goes missing.
