Perfect on paper, but ended up returning
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver was perfect for what I needed. I wanted to set up a little turntable system so the built-in phono pre-amp was very helpful. Also didnt want to get too carried away with speakers so the 2.0 was just enough. Speakers I bought to go with it were 6ohm Sony 3-way bookshelf speakers. Audio quality was decent for a while, but then eventually (after about a week) it started shutting off on its own. I moved it to a more ventilated area, re-checked all the connections including speakers, changed power strips, went direct to the wall, changed outlets and tried it on a circuit with nothing on it, unplugged everything... same result every time. Would shut off for an hour, turn back on, and die again 20 mins later. It was great while it worked, but I had to return it and did not get another one because I didn't want to have to potentially return it again. Some other thoughts... the pin connectors for the speaker wire in the back were difficult to work with. I wanted to use 14ga wire but could barely get it in there without it fraying all over the place. Even 16ga was a challange. The volume knob felt very... not high end. Very plasticy feeling and a lot of weird resistance turning it that felt like a clickly plastic mechanism behind the knob. Great price and features and audio quality, was absolutely perfect for what I needed but ended up exchanging it for a more expensive receiver with features I don't need and getting a separate phono pre-amp. This is a great option though provided it works.

Posted .Hi BenM, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with the STRDH190. We regret to hear that you ended up returning the unit. This is usually not the case for our receivers nor the experience we want you to have. Pair this receiver with some Klipsch 340 watt spea
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great receiver for the money. It checked off all the boxes. I can play my old albums and cassettes and connect my phone and tablet by Bluetooth. Of course it's not some high end model with all the HDMI home theater stuff. I just needed an inexpensive really good sounding receiver. I paired it with some Klipsch Reference 5 1/4 340 watt speakers. I think they cost twice as much as the receiver.

Decent receiver
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned his receiver because the only way to adjust treble and bass was through the remote control. Needless to say if the remote broke then it’s just a hassle. Returned it and bought the Yamaha at the same price - which by the way is pretty good. What I was looking for in a cheaper receiver.

Sony was the winner.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The decision was between this Sony and the similar Yamaha. Using it to push content to outside speakers. Easy BT connection from outside, not sure the range but it does go through door(s)/concrete foundation to the table 20 feet away, Nice that it has the phono connection in case the current Insignia receiver in the study needs to be replaced.

You might want to look to buy up the food chain
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First the pluses. Sound quality is very good and the bluetooth feature is appreciated. Now the not so good. There is no place to plug in electrical connections for other system components such as a fan or CD player. Output opinions are pretty much limited to std speakers.

Simplicity at its best
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a simple receiver I was very impressed. Has 2 channels so I can still run my indoor and outdoor speakers. I much prefer the bass and treble adjustment over the 7 band equalizer I had to adjust on my 25 year old Pioneer. Built in Bluetooth has great range. Absolutely all you need to simply enjoy music. Surprised this isn’t just an order only item. Best Buy had it for me to pickup in an hour!

Great 2 Channel Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great 2 channel stereo receiver. Very easy to set up and use. I love that Sony continues to utilize the A/B speakers in case you have 2 sets of speakers connected to the same source. I have the A speakers in my garage for working out and the B speakers on my deck. We can easily control the music from our phones while in either space without having to go to the receiver.
